Publisher's Summary

A strapping bodyguard and a mysterious beauty on the run cross paths and tempt danger in Cozumel....

For Nasir, former Special Ops military man and bodyguard, his new job seems like an easy-money gig: trail a Russian mobster’s runaway wife in Mexico, enjoy the sun, observe, and report. Just one rule: don’t get too close. But it’s all Naz can do not to watch the alluring dancer’s every move. A closer look is irresistible - especially when she’s in trouble.

Evalina escaped to the island getaway to live an untraceable life - as far away from the past as she can get. But Eva can’t ignore the dark, muscled stud who rescues her from a drug gang. He says he’s an ex-cop on vacation. When providence throws them together time and again, Eva thinks it’s all a beautiful coincidence. Now she’s giving in to a strange new sensation: trust.

But Naz has a mission to accomplish and a secret to keep. Eva has her share of secrets, too. And as the heat flares between them, Naz knows that trust could become the most dangerous impulse of all.

Action and Romance!

First, let me say that this has a CLIFFHANGER ending! Just a warning for those who don’t like to read cliffhangers until all the books are out, which is what I usually do but I didn’t realize this was a 2 part story. I’ve gotten so use to J.T. Geissinger having a book for each character that I didn’t even read the summary of Dangerous Beauty before I grabbed it. This book definitely kept me interested with the action, I always love it when there is an equal mix of action and romance! Naz works for a private security firm that is hired to observe a man’s wayward wife after she ran away. Naz quietly observes Eva until he is forced to make contact in order to keep her out of trouble. After spending some time with her he realizes things aren’t what they seem and his firm doesn’t have all the information involving the client. Eva is one of my favorite heroines in this type of romance book. She has suffered tremendously but she isn’t broken or cowed, instead she is strong and resilient.
“A person can endure almost anything if it’s to protect someone they love. Far more than they could ever endure for their own sake.”
I am excited to see what the book 2 has in store for Naz and Eva, it looks like a new character will be brought in to the mix! Both Aiden Snow and Lidia Dornet did a great job narrating, they were great with their characters and accents!

COMPELLING, ALL-CONSUMING & A CLIFFY ENDING

I love J.T. Geissinger.. but I hate hate hate cliffhangers - so I’ve had this (and the second book in the Dangerous Beauty trilogy) in my library watching and impatiently waiting for the third book to eventually be released.. and fingers crossed, tomorrow should be the day. So I finally started this awesome listen.. then went straight into book 2 afterwards.. and I really hope I’ve timed it right because this suspenseful romance has me absolutely gripped.

It’s a dual PoV slow-burn as undercover operative Nasir watches his assignment week after week and becomes infatuated with the intriguing beauty that is some lucky man’s runaway wife. Initiating a plan to ‘accidentally’ meet Eva, he get closer.. and, as he does, Nasir learns that the background to the job is all lies, nothing is as it seems and he must help this beautiful, wounded woman. And the more Nasir learns, the deeper his attraction and respect for Eva grows.. until love makes him unable to walk away.

Eva was held prisoner by a brutal sadistic monster for seven long years, she was horribly abused and she was determined to escape. And she did.. but the empty lonely weeks of hiding gets to Eva.. so, when a handsome man comes to her rescue, Eva can’t help but be drawn in by the sexy compelling stranger. However, Nasir is not who he claims to be, he’s keeping secrets from her, he’ll shake-up her world.. and he’ll show her Heaven.. before she voluntarily walks back into Hell. Because like it or not, the monster is always one step ahead of Eva, he’s playing the long game, he’s playing for keeps.. and he’s just called ‘checkmate’. And in book 2 the body count mounts.. the mystery deepens.. the tender, touching and passionate times get intense.. and the edge-of-your-seat drama continues.. but now a new twisted sociopath player joins the game.

Worth a credit? For me, WOW yes definitely.. it was everything I’d hoped for.. and so much more. Very entertaining smart and quick witted banter, smouldering chemistry, some gallows humor during angsty times, sexy passionate and fun times, drama and suspense that’s building and building. There’s a strong clever heroine who isn’t afraid to ask for what she wants and a hero who lovingly tries to do the right thing for the woman he loves.. and their love is powerful, beautiful and all consuming. It was great to have Connor and Tabby from Wicked Games in the secondary character lineup too. The excellent narration by Aiden and Lidia brought the loveable characters, the well-written action, the excitement, the flurry and the feels to life.

A fast and entertaining audio book!

I definitely enjoyed this story and am anxiously awaiting the second book in the series. The hero and heroine in this story both learn and grow throughout the story and deal rationally with the bulk of issues they face. It can be a bit over-angsty, at times, but it doesn't take away from the story. I will not give anything away but I do feel sorry for anyone that crosses Thelma!!

Hanging....

I absolutely loved these characters and this story. I laughed, cried and loved. But the ending...I hadn’t realized it was a two-part story and I am really struggling to think I have to wait another four months to find out what happened. Ugh!!
Well worth the read!

Geissinger, what gives?

Great story as geissinger usually does. Great narrators. It's a 5 star work, except the cliffhanger!

A Must read

I found this book while surfing for my next read and was glad I did. The only thing I found myself hating was the story was to be continued in the next book, Dangerous Desires, which won't be released until August 29, 2019. Which for me means re-reading Dangerous Beauty again, just before Dangerous Desires. I truly can't wait.

So good, the cliffie won't matter!!

Aarrgghh! I can't wait for book 2!! Naz, Nasir, Barney...whatever you call him...I FLOVE him!! He finds himself drawn to his mark. He's just supposed to watch & report on her, Evalina, Eva, to the client. He's not supposed to bring her attention to him. He's not supposed to talk to her. To kiss her. To get drawn under her spell. But there are others pulling the strings. Eva thinks she has escaped her abusive, kind of psycho ex...at least she'd like him to be a part of her past. She meets Naz and is pulled toward him. He is unlike any man she's known. Their chemistry blooms from the moment they meet in that dirty alley. Steamy, sweet, witty, sad, enthralling...even if this ends in a cliffhanger, it's still so good!! I couldn't stop reading/listening until I was done!!

2.5 I-don't-seem-to-have-any-luck-with-this-author

BUT

I take full responsibility for not liking this particular book. What I mean is that I should have known from the blurb that this wouldn't be a read I'd enjoy.

For me, this book was insta-love at its finest... which I'm NOT a fan of. The obstacle/taboo element was there but the attraction between them was so instant, in both body and mind, that I just couldn't feel it. I like to have more friction between the characters, and because there was none in this book, I was pretty indifferent about Eva and Naz.

In the end, it all boils down to personal preference. I do think this is a great book/series for people who have no problem with insta-like/love and are fans of romantic suspense. It just wasn't MY thing.

Excellent!!!

I really enjoyed this book, I love Barney (who's now going by his real name Nasir) and I think Eva is perfect for him! He just has to catch up with her again now and I really need the next book to see how he does!

Please NO !

Either this is a cliffhanger or a tarible ending.
Wait to buy this book, and see If it becomes a series or don’t tought it.
As standalone this is a great story, but the ending is to wierd and just plane wrong.
It is a shame it is just to sade.
If Geissinger wright’s like this all the time i might try something Else from him/her, I just nide to know What im going into.
