A second chance for love.
With not only her own pack, but also that of the clan of bears near-by, Jessica and her sister Janna flee for their lives. The pair finally arrive in the Twin Moons pack territory and are offered a helping hand if they were willing to work as waitstaff for a saloon being leased to a small set of shifters.
Simon Voss and his brother Soren had missed the annihilation of their clan. They had set out and hunted down the shifters who were responsible. Having gotten a lease on the Blue Moon Saloon, they are just trying to survive with their mates lost. And then suddenly Simon's bear perks up when Tina leads in the travel weary wolves. Jessica is alive! The she-wolf that was his destined mate has survived the 'Massacre.'
Jessica is both excited and wary of the fact that Simon is alive. Before the event Simon had broken her heart, and even the pleading of her wolf can't move her to trust him again. Will these two be able to find their happy-ever-after? Or will the past drive them apart? Have a listen and find out. I loved reading the story when Anna had first released it, and it is just as good being read. I feel that you won't regret taking a chance on this story.

Wolf shifter and bear shifter on the run find love
I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC copy of the audiobook the author graciously sent to me.
After the decimation of her pack by a band of rogues, wolf shifters Jessica Macks and her sister feel blessed to find jobs and a home at the shifter bar, Blue Moon Saloon. Ready to stop running, Jessica is looking forward to a little peace in her life, so when she sees bear shifter Simon Voss, the only man she ever loved, standing behind the bar, her first instinct is to turn around and run. But Jess and her sister have been running for too long.
Simon Voss and his brother returned home to find their entire world lost too the night Jessica's pack was attacked. After hunting down all the rogues involved in the ambush they could find, Simon and his brother were left with nothing but survivors' guilt and the need to start over. When Simon sees Jess walk into the bar, he is thrilled by the knowledge that his one true mate is alive, but devastated by the sinking feeling that she will never forgive him for the months leading up to the attack. Will Simon be able to convince Jess that even though what he did was wrong, he was trying to act in her best interest? Will she ever forgive him and allow him to claim her, or are they destined to forever live and work side-by-side in their current state of heartbreak?
This story has lots of drama, action and romance. The concept of romance between a bear shifter and a wolf shifter is an interesting take on shifter romance with promise for lots of interesting plot complications. The chemistry between Simon and Jessica is hot, hot, hot! Yet the characters are not uni-dimensional--they are sensitive and real, and the depth of pain they carry is palpable. In Simon's case in particular, the amount of misplaced guilt he carries as a result of being away when his pack was attacked is tragic. In addition to Simon and Jessica's romance, Damnation's plot features action that makes the story exciting and allows us to see the main characters' bravery and heroism. The narrator's crisp, feminine voice is particularly well-suited to the passages told from Jessica's point of view, but was adequate for the entire story. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the Blue Moon Saloon Series, and while this installment felt like a complete story with a definitive ending, the plot showed promise for interesting future stories featuring some of the other characters. Anyone who enjoys shifter romance with lots of action and strong female leads will enjoy this first book of the Blue Moon Saloon Series.

An Awesome Story!!
I just loved this story, the only thing that I would have changed/added would have been the narrator and have had both a male and a female reading it would have been alittle more expressive. But i love Anna Lowes books anyways and being able to listen to the story unfold while working is a nice touch!

LOVED IT!
DAMNATION is the first book in the Blue Moon series. While each is meant to stand alone, I believe it will be better to read them all and in the order of release. This is a spin-off of the Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch series. I have not read any of those books and had no trouble with following the characters (but I’m mighty curious now!).
Grabbed me by the heart and held on straight until the end. I loved every minute of listening to this story of destiny and love that was meant to be claimed and celebrated.
While in some stories it is annoying to hear inner dialogue, in this one it made the wolf and bear additional characters and they are terrific! They are so simple, single-minded, and in love with each other. Now if they could just get their humans to quit being so proud.
This is the first book I have read from Anna Lowe. I want more!
Narration: The narrator has the perfect voice for this story. She is Jessica Macks… and she is perfectly divine as the voice of her wolf (‘Mine, My mate, Mine!’). I think I’ll go listen to her again right now. Talk to you again soon!
Note: while I was given this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS !!!
Title: Damnation
Series: Blue Moon Saloon
Author: Anna Lowe
Designation: Book One of Series, Standalone Paranormal Romance, No Cliffhanger, HEA
Reading Platform: Kindle & Audiobook Editions
My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS*****
I adore paranormal romance, and no one does it better than Anna Lowe! I've been a fan of Lowe's work for several years and enjoy everything she writes, but Damnation and the Blue Moon Saloon Series have become my new favorites! But I'm not the only one who loves it. Damnation was voted Best Shifter Book for 2016 by Reality Bites Magazine. Wow! And yes, it's that good! I became officially hooked two years ago after reading Desert Moon, the first release in Lowe's The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch Series and have followed her work since. I've been a lover of the written word for over 60 years and during that time, I've read an incalculable number of books, written by a diverse collection of talented authors. So when I say Anna Lowe is one of my favorites, that's quite a recommendation. It's a little hard to explain but I'll try. Lowe is what I like to call a triple threat. lol... I know, it sounds a little ominous but it's really not. You see, some authors are stronger in certain aspects of the process than others. They may have a great idea for a book or series but have difficulties developing the story and translating their thoughts to written words, while some may be good with words and story development but lack creativity and ideas. Lowe can create it, develop it, and write it, but Lowe's talent doesn't stop there. She's not only a truly gifted storyteller and skilled wordsmith, she's also one of the most reliable authors in the romance genre today, consistently penning unique and highly imaginative storylines, set in vividly depicted worlds, populated with fascinating characters who will surely capture your imagination as well as your heart. Lowe's books are all well crafted and well edited with beautiful covers. And Damnation is no exception! In addition to having my nose stuck in a book for a few hours every day, I frequently listen to audiobooks and Damnation was available so, naturally, I snagged the Audible version as well. There's nothing like listening to the characters of a story come to life through the voice of a talented narrator and I truly enjoy the artist Lowe uses for her books. Kelsey Osborne does a fabulous job and has quickly become one of my favorites. Osborne's reading and commentary skills are exceptional, enhanced by her pleasing pitch, soothing dulcet tone, delightful and sometimes amusing voice inflections, rhythmic effortless cadence, and always correct pronunciations. But as usual I digress, especially when I talk about my favorite authors, so let's discuss a few details about the story itself.
Damnation is an emotionally gripping, fast-paced, well-crafted star-crossed lovers/second chance paranormal romance filled to the brim with pulse-pounding danger, agonizing drama, malevolent enemies, heart-wrenching angst, fiery passion, steamy sex, dreamy romance and laugh-out-loud humor. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with his and her perspectives. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed and flows effortlessly. But hands down, my favorite component of every Lowe story is her cast of relatable characters. I found them to be intriguing, engaging, well developed, and at times, hilarious. I was immediately smitten with the two protagonists, beautiful, plucky she-wolf Jessica 'Jess' Macks and handsome, burly bear-shifter Simon Voss. These two could not have been more different but complemented each other perfectly, and together were an absolute riot. My emotions ran the full gambit while reading this story. I sniffed, snorted, giggled, sobbed and raged through the entire book. And there were quite a few times, I wanted to give Simon and Jess a swift kick in the butt but by the end, I was happy, satisfied and well entertained. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but for adult readers only since it does contain some steamy, dreamy love scenes, however, I highly recommend the muffins for all ages! They're so yummy! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! I've already purchased Temptation, the second book of the series, and can hardly wait to dive in! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Two unlikely lovers thrown together by chance, divided by obligation, haunted by loss, reunited by fate.... but will destiny grant them the second chance they each so desperately desire? We'll see! No spoilers from me but I will say this... A beautiful, strong she-wolf on the run for her life, earnestly seeking a place to belong-check! A handsome, determined bear shifter tortured by past mistakes, desperately seeking a second chance-check! Heinous enemies with evil machinations-check! Danger, drama, heartache, loss, and angst-check! Fiery passion, steamy sex, sweet romance and a heartwarming second chance at love- you bet! That and a whole lot more, including a very important lesson.... Bad guys don't always wear black, especially when their name is Whyte!

Mess with these destined mates at your own peril.
Welcome to the Blue Moon Saloon where clan and pack unite much to the rogue Blue Bloods’ consternation. A rogue purity movement has no place messing with destined mates.
In Damnation the reader is introduced to Jessica and Janna Macks, two she-wolves on the run from the brutal decimation of their pack and the neighboring bear clan. At wit’s end, they are extended safe haven by the local wolf pack. You might recall this pack from Ms. Lowe’s Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch series. Safe haven, however, comes with a hitch. Living and working with the ex might be too much for the average gal but this is one she-wolf up to the task. While Simon is still all she ever wanted in a mate, Jess won’t be giving Simon a free pass anytime soon. Nope, it’s going to cost this bear another walk through hell as he fights to keep his mate safe from pursuing rogues while hoping love comes with second chances.
Damnation is narrated by Kelsey Osborne. She does an awesome job. I’m seriously looking forward to listening to further stories in the Blue Moon Saloon series. If you like great paranormal romance that features wolves and bears where danger is always waiting in the wings you’re going to love this series.

Second chance love for she-wolf and alpha grizzly
Damnation is the first book in the Blue Moon Saloon series (a spin off from Anna Lowe’s ‘Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch’ series) and it follows Jessica and Simon’s story. Jessica and her sister Janna are on the run. They find jobs at a shifter bar, and then Jessica finds out that her former love Simon (the mate who rejected her) works there too. Simon doesn’t know what to do when Jessica shows up. His inner bear wants to claim her, but she hasn’t forgiven him. They have to find a way to make the situation work. Expect misunderstandings, suspense and evil rogues in this second chance story.
Overall, a great start to the series, and the narration, as always, was brilliant.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, and I'm leaving a voluntary review.
