About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Cupid isn't a myth. He's Lila Black's perfect match.

In a world where everyone has their perfect match, seventeen-year-old Lila Black is sick of Cupid's Matchmaking Service spamming her.

But her world is turned inside out when she learns not only that cupids exist, but that she's been matched with the infamous god of love, Cupid.

The only catch? She can't actually fall for Cupid; if she does, all of mythical hell will break loose, and it won't be pretty . . .

As arrows fly and feelings become stronger, can Cupid and Lila resist each other's magnetic pull?

And will Lila find herself part of a deadly supernatural war that could cost her life, and her heart?

I really liked the current wolf series I have started listening to by this author and I feel the writing in Cupid really isn't that bad. I might be worth reading this book without the narration. I'm sorry, but the reader is slow and stilted with very basic inflection. It made me feel like I was listening to a children's book. The characters are 17 not 12 and it's a Rom/SciFi. There's zero grit to the readers voice, I kept drifting off while listening because there was no symbiotic wave to the journey. It all feels informational not interactive, if that makes sense? I could imagine this reader doing a meditation voice over.

There's zero grit to the readers voice.
