i could’ve lived without the explicit description of wanting to lay your life down for the baby boy who you would grow up to fall in love with but otherwise this was cute!! it felt a little unfinished to me - like we were so fixated on the past and their childhood that we didn’t really get to focus on them as adults falling in love as much as we should’ve. but also the parts of the past we were fixated on just didn’t feel like the right moments? i wanted more of the photo box that shit could’ve been cute!!! them getting together felt a bit rushed for me, i wish we had seen a little more of them as grown people and the feelings they were experiencing for each other.

Ali Hazelwood is my auto-read/auto-buy author but this might be my least favourite work of hers. I didn’t find the narration engaging and the story seemed shallow unlike her other books. However, Mark carried this book. He was enjoyable at times except when he said “are you okay?” 10 times in one sitting. A short read with little spice.
