About this listen
The international best-selling series with more than one million copies sold.
Anti-hero (noun):
1) A powerful and charismatic man lacking moral character
2) A magnificent bastard
3) Killian Black
You don’t know me. You think you do, but you don’t. The only thing you know is my name, and even that’s a lie.
I’m king of Boston, lord of criminals, ruler of an underworld empire.
Or am I?
Only one thing’s for sure: I operate alone.
Until I cross paths with a brazen little thief who sets my whole kingdom on fire.
Just as two wrongs don’t make a right, two villains don’t belong together. Especially since she’s the daughter of my most deadly enemy.
Taking her would start a war.
Keeping her would be suicide.
Making her mine would break every code of honor and defy all common sense. Then again, where’s the fun in following the rules?"
Love these characters

Considering Killian is such a recurring character in JTG’s books, I was really looking forward to reading his story, so I was left a little disappointed tbh. I didn’t find Juliet unlikable exactly, but it did annoy me how long she kept pushing Killian away. I kinda felt like he deserved more/better?
Especially after his journey in the Dangerous Beauty series, I was soooo hoping for a beautiful love story for him, and one where where he wasn’t denied for so long. But then again I suppose there wouldn’t have been much of a story if she’d fallen for him right away. It just wasn’t an enjoyable slow burn (which the author is usually great at), so whilst the story was fine/good enough, it had so much potential and could have been so much more.
I did like this book better than book 1, “beautifully cruel” (I didn’t enjoy Liam and Tru’s story much a all) but felt both books in this series lacked a lot of the depth, twists and uniquely beautiful elements I’ve come to love in so many other JTG books, so I’m just a little bummed that Killian’s story wasn’t one of her good ones.
Narrators were both perfect though, so I highly recommend the audiobook over reading the book.
I was expecting more for Killian’s story
