About this listen

History isn't always what it seems....

Twelve months after his change, Alec MacAidan is still getting used to his many vampire talents. While most vampires would give anything to have more than one supernatural power, Alec craves nothing more than peace and time alone with Cronin. But when Alec meets entities from outside this realm, he's left powerless in their presence.

Zoan are half-lycan, half-dragon creatures that have slipped through time and reality, seemingly undetected by man and vampire. Or have they? They bear an uncanny resemblance to gargoyles, leaving Alec's view on all things weird to get a whole lot weirder.

This new quest leads Alec, Cronin, and their band of friends to Paris, Rome, and Moscow, where they learn that gargoyles aren't simply statues on walls. In the underground pits beneath churches all over the world, Alec discovers the Key's true destiny. Facing the Zoan might take every talent he has. And he may need help from the dead to get them all out alive.

A wonderful ending

I laughed and cried in this one. The third book in the series we find Alec’s true purpose.
It’s well written and researched. And read wonderfully. My favourite scene though is the last one. And we’ll worth the story to get there!

Very Happy.

What a great happy ending.
Lots of blood, sweat, and tears.
The Key is one hard-working fella and fate picked the correct human for the tasks ahead.
Wish Kennard's wish about the English was made to come true 🤣

let down ending to trilogy

I was disappointed with Alec mainly. He ruined the story with unbelievable he was in this book.
His character did a complete 180.
Now he is everyones rock without actually learning, growing, mastering his skills and talents. No issues even from drinking from humans. How?
Him over powering and turning into a superior was disappointing without any even mental or physical struggle whatsoever. Also, him being the vampire...king? Means what? He doesn't do anything.
Yay, more pyramids and standing stones. Completely done with those 3 books in. We need something new.
Cronin was so much more real with his breakdown in Scotland. But he is literally one of the weakest characters. From the first 2 books talking him up as the ultimate vampire...he doesn't do anything but be emotional support. Why was he so revered?
The dream scene and he wakes up with new powers....yuk come on. How easy was that? He was just whinging he wasn't powerful enough, that was an eye roll moment. Next minute he wakes up with new powers lol.
And Jorje AGAIN? Every book is a copy and paste.
...they stopped prep? Just jamming it in?
Alec's dad fine to breathe stagnant cave air?
I agree with Kennard, Paris is gross.
What's the point of everyone else? Alec is just so ultra powerful and amazing. Eye roll.
I wish a decision was made. Are the gargoyles wolves, lizards, etc? MAKE A DECISION.
Goethe was again, like a split "this is the reason!" Weird.
I love how threatening that the Zoan is, but it's been 1 book. And a steak to the heart. How original. There is no build at all in any other book. The theme is the same, "oh this is serious, end of the world" every book.
Every character besides Alec is pointless.
"Replicating drains Alec." Repeats over and over. Alec "I don't know, I've done this before." Um. Right.
Stas is Russian. So disappointed. I wanted it to be a Lycan. You know. Something.
In short. Don't bother. Narrator was amazing.
