Publisher's Summary

My Grandmother, Agnes Bartlett, used to own Cardinal Woolsey's knitting shop then died and left her shop to me, without informing me that she wasn't actually dead. She's a vampire and part of the world's strangest craft circle-the Vampire Knitting Club.

As you might imagine, this means she's free to interfere in how I run the business that used to be hers. She's trying to teach me to knit, and it's not going well. She's also trying to teach me how to be a witch, since it turns out I'm from a long line of witches. Another tiny detail about my family that no one ever told me, along with the long-lost witch cousins I recently discovered. But I'm learning. I've got my family spell book, my black cat familiar, some powers that sometimes scare me, and an interesting new group of friends.

My archaeologist parents are coming to visit and bringing me a gift I could do without. So, to recap, I run a knitting shop, and I can't knit. I'm a beginning witch who can't always control her cat, never mind her magic, and my love life is as tangled as the last sock I tried to knit. Oh, and for some reason, I keep getting involved in murder investigations. Good thing I have my vampire knitters to help sniff out clues. At least I've finally hired the perfect assistant, a real demon with the crochet hook. Or is she too perfect?

What a crazy magical ride.

This was so much fun! A lot more magic too! At the end there all I could think for poor Rafe was 'So close yet so far'. Very keen to start the next one.

LUCY AND THE GANG ARE BACK

MEET THE PARENTS AND A NEW ASSISTANT AND A VERY STRONG WITCH AND A VERY NASTY DEMON. ANOTHER GREAT READ! I DO HOPE IAN HAS A LARGER ROLE IN THE NEXT ONE, BUT I DO LIKE RAFE. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS SERIES, BUT ENJOY A GOOD PARANORMAL COZY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Crochet and Cauldrons

Very entertaining listen. I loved the descriptions of Oxford, and the characters are easy to remember and follow.

Fun & engaging

This series combines a bit of so many things I enjoy: knitting, romance, mystery, vampires & England. Nancy Warren pulls it all together beautifully with humor and human connection. I’m almost glad I make myself wait for my new monthly credit or I’d be tempted to download all of them and then what would I look forward to?? If you’re looking for a lighthearted series with dynamic characters who start to feel like friends, I wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Less cozy, a bit more anxious ….

There's an active ongoing death threat against the main character in this one, although this probably still qualifies as a modern cozy, there was more anxiety in listening to it than was as comfortable in the first two books.

Ancient evil stalks Lucy.

I was engrossed in this story of an ancient evil, who killed white witches. Lucy is surrounded by people who are loyal and protective, but can they help keep her alive?

liked it,but...

I like the books, but the narrator sounds much older than the character is supposed to be. It was also predictable, despite that I will continue with the series. I want to know what happens next.

Family Reunion and Egyptian Curses

This is my favorite in the series so far and I continue to be impressed by how much these stories pull me in and engage me. This time we get to meet Lucy's parents who visit from their most recent archaeological dig site with cursed items in tow. It is so fascinating to gain insight into family dynamics that feel very real as Lucy continues to struggle to find help for the shop. The audience watches as Lucy is still developing not only her knitting skills but her magic and balancing a life that straddles two very different worlds. We get to meet a new handful of characters and vague wisps of romance linger in the background though continue to be very cursory to the rest of the story. There is an exciting build as the audience guesses whodunit and although not terribly surprising it does feel exciting and lovely to watch unfold. A wonderful easy listen with fantastic narration. Highly recommend for fans of supernatural cozies with a lovely setting of a knit shop in Oxford.
