Brilliant narration

Jonathan Sleep really bring this story alive. Extra production additions were well worth it.

The story is great, though I don't like toilet humour and the half-orc's low-charisma induced bodily functions put me off. If it wasn't for being constantly assaulted with farts and poop, I would have given this all 5 stars.

want more. give me more.

I was typically unsure of this installment of the series. I hate vampires as a rule, but as this made me laugh it becomes the exception to the rule.
down side is it feels like that save the damsel in distress, despite Tim's sister doesn't realise she is in distress.

Low-brow nerd humor that I can't get enough of!

Any additional comments?

I can not wait for the next story to be released on audio.
I'd consider buying the books if I knew how to read, but Jonathan Sleep's narration is half the fun. His delivery is perfect.
I was laughing out loud listening to this title. Walking around laughing probably made me look a little crazy, good thing my tinfoil hat covers my headphones.

Laughed out loud

I have laughed out loud many times during this listening. For fans of light reading with a bunch of dick and fart jokes while trying to make a life in unfamilar, yet very familiar territory
, this series is for you. I have both read the book and grabbed the Audible version as soon as it came out, and I have to say; the narrator really brings this world to life. I can't wait for book 3 (which I have already read) to come out in audio .

Clever

Ok. So I decided to give this series one more try after my disappointment with book one and what a surprise, I really liked it! Book one turned me off with an overload of fart jokes and just basic disgustingness (is this a word?) After swearing I was done with the series, I used an extra credit to pick up book two and found a well written novel that was not afraid to include it's trademark fart jokes, but also a novel with a richly described world full of new characters that also came to be stuck in game due to Mordred. Suddenly the story is not only the exploration of this new world, but also how all the characters are going to work together to return to the real world. Give this one a try and you might be pleasantly surprised as well!

Absolutely Fantastic.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Critical Failures II: Fail Harder?

Cooper, the Half-Orc, receives several magic enhancements to his physical strength in order to climb a large cliff and help their friend Stuart climb down more quickly. One of these buffs is a bardic song, so Chaz of course plays Eye of the Tiger on his lute. Effing classic.

What does Jonathan Sleep bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices he gives to these characters absolutely makes this piece. Some of the lines could be in danger of falling flat with a bad narrator, but Jonathan absolutely kills delivery on every joke in the book. If you're into gaming culture, you will be cracking up the entire time; guaranteed.

If you could rename Critical Failures II: Fail Harder, what would you call it?

Dungeons and Dickheads.

Any additional comments?

I listened to the whole thing in about two days. Jonathan Sleep is just fantastic with his voice acting, and Robert Bevan has a deep knowledge of D&D culture. The comedy in this book is astounding. The characters are incredibly vibrant and absolutely hilarious. I recommend it to everyone in my party.

Hillariously Twisted!

What made the experience of listening to Critical Failures II: Fail Harder the most enjoyable?

The story is hysterical and the narrator plays it up perfectly.

What other book might you compare Critical Failures II: Fail Harder to and why?

Any of the D6 books. I can't get enough of them. It's also similar to NPCs, another great comedy.

What does Jonathan Sleep bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices are amazing and distinctive.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

ROFLMAO

My kind of Humor!

I wasn't expecting much from the first book since it was all explanations and exposition. HOWEVER! This book had me reeling with laughter from Cooper's many actions and stumbles. The voice acting was phenomenal and spot on, the speed just right for the comedy.

Chapter 21 (Shown as Chapter 22 on audible), nearly had me fall off my desk chair in a fit of uncontrollable laughter.

For that chapter alone this book is worth the money.

My main hangups are with how short all the books are and how expensive they are for their length. It hurts me to use a credit on such a short book, but the normal price is too high. I lucked out with the 70% sale.

The other bad thing is how annoying Katherine is. I cant stand her as a character, but she completely fills the Bratty sister role that does whatever she can to piss you off, including the reader.

Despite these drawbacks, this book is worth the money. Comedy shows, movies, and standups rarely get me in a mood like this book. I highly recommend this book for everyone.

It is unfortunate but you should get the first book so you understand the situation, otherwise I would appreciate this as a stand alone novel.

I wished I could share this laughter with someone, so I hope you can enjoy this as much as I did.

Not as good as the first or the short stories

Not much happened here except the constant poop, sex, and fart jokes. Not that it was bad, there just wasn't much story and the end just happened so fast, and leads right into the next book. The first book was more of a story with all the crude humor and the D6 collection of shorts was better than this as well. I suspect that over the long haul I will enjoy the short stories more than the novels, much like a comedy series is more-often better than a movie made from that series.

That said, I bought the next book and started it up right away.

If you made it to the second book...

If you bought the 2nd book having enjoyed the first, you'll know what you are getring with the sequal and wont be disappointed. Yes its juvenile, yes it can be offensive, yes the story is basic but it is definitely, repeatedly laugh out loud funny. Laughter is an antidote against the serious issues of the world right now. If youve been a teenage roleplayer then you'll identify with the situational fun and banter these characters have, and the solutions they come up with. The narration is top notch and there's some clever plot devices and twists that show the author isn't as daft as the characters would lead you to believe. p.s. Best uses of Mount spell ever.

Even better than the first book. The story is getting better and better. The Narrator really makes the books comes to life.
