About this listen

Often considered one of the first ever psychological thrillers, Crime and Punishment is a gripping tale of a poverty-stricken young man in Saint Petersburg, Russia, who hatches a plan to kill someone for money. Once the deed is done, he finds himself racked with guilt, confusion and disgust for his act.

In this new recording, Will Poulter (Detroit, Midsommar, The Maze Runner) gives new life to the troubled protagonist, Rodion Raskolnikov, in a performance that will have you questioning where we draw the line between right and wrong.

This was my first exposure to Dostoyevsky, and what an adventure it was! The thoroughly captivating story, along with the narrator's outstanding performance.... words cannot describe it. I will have to read this again sometime as there are definitely subtleties I have missed. And to think this was one of the free (included) audiobooks too. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

What an incredible experience!

This was a great book. It was interesting and the characters were well written. They felt organic and behaved like real people. The narration by Will Poulter was excellent, and he did well to breathe life into each and every character; making them distinct and memorable.

I think most would enjoy this audio book.

A great story and a great performance

This was a very well written book. Surprisingly ahead of its time and an intriguing read from start to finish, some parts lost me and some of the conversations in the book could be shorter or be more linked to the narrative for my taste, but other than that it deserves the title of a classic book and every bit of praise it does and will get. cheers for the book and thanks to the narrator for a great performance.

A Wicked Book

The narrator makes this fairly challenging book entertaining from start to finish. The book itself is of course a must read classic.

Fantastic performance
