Publisher's Summary
In this novel of mounting suspense from award-winning author Herbert Lieberman, a terrifying surprise waits beneath a couple’s New England home. Albert and Alice Graves live a normal, if monotonous, domestic life. They never had children; they spend their days tending to their home and enjoying their time together.
One day, when the oil man, Richard, is refilling their furnace, Alice invites him to dinner, never suspecting that a casual act of charity will lead to a horrifying, morbid discovery in the crawlspace underneath their beloved house.
The Graves take Richard into their lives, becoming attached to his presence as though to the son they never had. Their town, though, is not nearly so welcoming. When the locals lash out against the Graves and their strange houseguest, the contented household is irrevocably drawn into a darkness they could not have imagined.

Loved it
This was fantastic.
Slow paced… a slow unraveling.
Listening to this felt cosy to me.
My favourite audio book so far.
I was disappointed for it to end … now I have to find something as enjoyable which will be hard.

A great listen…
Once I started I could not stop listening until it ended. Great narrative. Many emotions, but definitely psychological, not horror. Now to find the next good book!

Brilliant
Psychological thriller, rather than horror. It’s about doing the right thing and it coming back to bite the protagonist. You feel so much for all the characters and the struggles they are going though - love, mental illness, loneliness, loss and grief. Really sad ending that all makes sense and brings it all together. Wanted to start it again as soon as it ended. Expertly narrated.

An enjoyable psych thriller
Crawlspace delivered some tense scenes, definitely a decent psychological thriller. I did find myself becoming frustrated with Albert and Alice's relationship with Richard. But with that being said, it was an abnormal situation. I didn't like that Albert pitted Richard so much, especially towards the end. But it also seemed like he had to justify his actions somehow.
Written and performed really well!
