It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

When Jorie's writing gets uncomfortably close to the truth, Griffin is sent to investigate and, if necessary, kill the author to protect the secrets of her kind. Publisher's Summary
Kate Winters, author of the popular mystery series The Masters, finds herself in a bit of a predicament - she doesn't seem to be able to write any longer. So when her old friend and wealthy widow Brenda invites Kate to spend the summer in Coyote, New Mexico, Kate decides that a summer in Coyote might be just what she needs to clear her writer's block.
Leaving behind the Dallas heat - and her girlfriend, Robin - Kate retreats to the high mountain desert and soon finds herself surrounded by Brenda's eccentric friends and artists. But it's the local sheriff, Lee Foxx, who soon grabs her attention. It doesn't take long for Kate to discover that Lee has a penchant for dating the young tourists that flock to the river canyon each summer - and that Lee has no intention of ever settling down.
Then an unexpected visit by Kate's girlfriend sends everyone scrambling. Torn between safety and desire, Kate has no idea which way to turn. And as for Lee - she can't quite believe that she's actually fallen in love...for the very first time in her life.

Great!
I loved Coyote Sky. The location alone was incredible. Kate Winters and Lee Foxx make a great combination. Abby Craden does her usual excellent job with the narration.

Made me want to move to Coyote!
The perfect book for girls who love girls and nature. I identified with the characters. The voice acting was unusually well-done. The setting is so well described and inviting that I even looked to see if Coyote is a real place. The story is great and everything you would want to happen... you’ll just have to read and find out!

Not my favorite
I can never resist a Gerri Hill-Abby Craden combo and I preordered this as soon as I could. I loved the performance and even the premise of the story in general was good. It was the character development and the forced angst that put me off. I mean, how Kate could think that she still meant nothing to Lee after each profound encounter between them got a little old. Also, the ending felt rushed and unresolved. When I saw that there were only 5 minutes left and they hadn’t even talked about their relationship yet, I was a little disappointed. All that being said, I don’t regret getting this one. It was entertaining and fun in places.

Very Enjoyable!
I really got a kick out of this book. Kate, a novelist from Dallas, goes to Coyote NM to stay with her outspoken, and BFF Brenda. Kate doesn’t call her writing dry spell a “block,” but Brenda does. The slow pace, scenery, off-the-wall talented group of artists, and the gorgeous, magnetic tow sheriff make her stay eventful. I even laughed out loud in spots. Good love story and narrated to perfection by Abby Craden. Enjoy!

Great listen!
I felt this love story was refreshingly different! I love how the author described the surroundings so well, the location practically became a character. It made for a pleasant escape. In the book preview the main character seemed maybe a tad bit whiny and I wasn’t sure if I should go for it. I’m so glad I did. The characters didn’t annoy me at all. (I disagree with another reviewer in that I didn’t feel any descriptions were overly repetitive. It made sense why Kate would be questioning Lee given Lee’s earlier comments.) The narrator did a great job too! I’ll look for more by Gerri Hill and Abby Craden.

Struggling Writer and Sexy Sheriff
Kate Winters has writer’s block so her wealthy friend Brenda invites her to the high desert of New Mexico to concentrate. Sheriff Lee Foxx is a sexy woman who attracts lesbian and straight women equally. The fates are pulling them together but Kate wants no part of the womanizer. Great performance but Kate’s density about Lee’s actions is a bit much. A really rushed conclusion. Still recommend.

Disappointed
This is the very first book by Gerri Hill that I was very disappointed in! First, Abby Craden was outstanding as usual. She does an amazing job bringing those characters to life. And if it wasn’t for her, I would have stopped listening halfway thru! The main characters zero development apart and together felt like it was written by a beginners writer. Not an experienced writer like Gerri Hill. Seriously, what happened? This story had so much potential. But, felt like after Kate went to Arizona, Gerri didn’t feel like writing the book and just wanted to end it! All Kate did was complain, doubt and judge throughout the book. It was getting annoying! Gerri Hill has been 1 of the few writers that has been a beacon of hope to characters that develop, communicate and grow together. With all due respect Ms. Hill, this was not you!!
