Publisher's Summary

Cryptic online messages and a murder in a swanky condo complex don't strike crime reporter Nichelle Clarke as related - until a gunman sends a hospital into chaos.

Perfect for fans of James Patterson, J.D. Robb, and Melinda Leigh.

When a body is discovered in a high-rise in Richmond, Virginia, crime reporter Nichelle Clarke races to the scene. The victim is a brilliant doctor with an unusual past. But before Nichelle can decide what to make of the murder, the local police radio is filled with a dreaded distress call.

There is an active shooter at a nearby hospital.

The gunman has taken hostages on a patient floor, and gives the police a single demand.

He wants to speak with Nichelle.

In person.

Highly entertaining

I love these books but I get impatient at the end. There's always a lot of action and drama and it all happens in a few minutes. It's both frustrating and satisfying at the same time. As always Therese Plummer does a great job as narrator.

Welp that was intense, I didn’t see that coming.
The poor dog… Who treats their dog like that, I am glad they got a new home.

Nichelle sure gets into a lot of pickles but the theme I am noticing is that she is so honest people trust her. I think that is what makes her a great crime reporter. Her job isn’t always easy but she is always fair.

I am really enjoying this series, the mystery of who done it to the characters and even the love interest. I have a theory about Joey, and Kyle being so up in Nichelle’s personal life I don’t see that ending well.

Another hit for Therese Plummer she is killing it with the narration.

The murder of a cancer researcher hits home

Another taut storied made even better by the narration of Therese Plummer. Management is circling ever closer to Nicole's job but a hostage situation in a hospital and learning the truth about a new approach to cure cancer forces Nichelle to continue full speed ahead at personal and emotional risk. Seems something will have to give soon, but so far Nichelle always manages to pull out with the story every time.

The Best in the Series...

I absolutely loved this plot! While not realistic, Cover Shot is a perfect example of why fiction exists. Both Walker and Plummer deserve more than 5 stars in my humble opinion! Worth a credit if you are into this series. If you’re new to this series I recommend reading the books in order so you understand the back stories. I have enjoyed all the books in the series and highly recommend!

Love this series

I love this series. Interesting, funny and just all around good mystery. Terese Plummer is an excellent narrator. I haven't listened to a book in this series since I started listening to it. I am starting Book 6 in the series next.

Cover Shot

I am binge listening to LynDee Walker’s books on Nichelle Clarke! She always has two plots going on and the story never lags. I’m sure hoping LynDee writes more books on Nichelle before I listen to the last one and go into withdrawals.
