I love Ruby Dixon and both these narrators. however I didn't love Alice, she's not my fave kind of female character, all hysterical and anxious, which is not what I'm looking for in escapist reading. The corsair brothers are all total charmers, and RD's writing is funny and engaging. I sort of wish I'd skipped this one because of Alice's whining, but it was still a decent story and made me smile a little.

So I don't know if Hollie Jackson has just dropped the ball this series but she keeps making narration errors. Alice's pet caranu (hope I've spelt that right) was name a difficult spelling S name but it was often mispronounced in the narration as Stella which wasn't the name. Hollie was perfect in Ice Planet Barbarians but she's letting the team down. With this one.

Still it wouldn't stop listening due to his much I love Ruby and the story but it's really disappointing. Still I'm also thankful we have an audio book when so many can't afford audio versions.

Mason Lloyd was on point as usual but the bad narration takes it to 4 stars.

I am so in love with this series. And I loved Kaspar and Alyce's story just as much as the first book. 5 stars

Despite Hollie's ongoing mistakes it won't stop me from buying the rest of the series and listening.
