About this listen

Frances is bright, young and single, enjoying life and her burgeoning career in the big city.

But after attracting the attentions of a stranger, her life begins to unravel from the inside out.

A seductive novel of power and complicity, Consent shows us just how vulnerable we are to the will of others - people we may not even know . . .

Would you listen to Consent again? Why?

Yes, the performance of the narrator Matthew Baynton is a perfect match for Leo Benedictus' excellent writing

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Protagonist. His name is never revealed, but you live inside his mind as he gets progressively creepier. I loved it because thankfully this is not normal for me to think the way he thinks, or to act the way he acts.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The meeting between the protagonist and Patrick

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Too much!
