Come Back to Me

The story in this audiobook shows the strength you have even when you think you have nothing left to live for. I loved this book and it's hard to pause and put it down.

Undecided about Blake 🤔

First off I did enjoy most of this book. It's high on the drama and some of the characters are not very likable. Fortunately Adriana the heroine of this story is a admirable character with tons of strength. After loosing so many people in her family from various deaths.. It's a wonder this woman didn't fall apart. Her evil witch of a sister Alexis wasn't a tragic loss for me.
But dealing with all this tragedy on her own was a hard to listen to.

I'm on the fence with Blake he fakes his own death stays gone for 4 year's all while constantly professing his love for Adriana. I feel like I need a pair of boots to navigate my way through all of Blake's far fetched BS. I mean I get why he left, but come on.. if he loved Adriana so much, why didn't he come back when she really needed him? I feel like he had opportunitie's that he just didn't take. And then I have to address the way he came back in her life well, that was a bit of a unrealistic 💊 to swallow. The chances of a situation in real life happening this way is probably about the same chance you have of winning the lottery lol. For a while the only good thing Blake had in his favor was the fact that he was celibate while he was away.

Though it was hard for me to warm up to Blake, I will say that what his character lacked in compassion for his wife he more than made up for between the sheets lol. To be so melancholy and dramatic this book did have some pretty steamy scenes in it (I'm certainly not complaining about that). Blake's uber hot bedroom antics definitely earned him a few brownie points with me. Yeah.. my ears were seduced by the sex and it made me want to foget what I didn't like about his character.

The narration was great! Lacy And Logan did a very good job acting out the characters with plenty of emotion and feeling. Lacy has a soft pleasant voice while Logan's is deep and sexy they complement each other perfectly.
This is my first Kathy Coopmans book though, I didn't care for all the characters.. I do like her writing style and will definitely be buying more of her book's in the future. I own a ton of book's and somehow this talented author had escaped my attention. I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review. I wish we would have got more out of the epilogue, but I still think it was worth the time spent listening.

A second chance is all it takes

The narrators are so stinking good on this they deserve top billing here.

This book is a good mix of rip you heart out, mace your face, kick you in the feels heartbreak and white hot passion. Adriana and Blake could melt the pants right off you.

Adriana is stronger than anyone should have too be. The meet cute between the characters is a fantasy I want to be a part of. But did I mention the tears?! Don’t listen while driving. You need wipers for you eyes. And Blake, oh Blake you were so very close to perfect.

I would recommend this for fans or second chance romance

The narrators are great! The story? Not so much.

Okay, so I hate doing bad reviews. I try to find the positive in a book because I know bad reviews hurt.

So, let me focus on the positives:

-the narrators did a great job. I love Logan McAllister and Lacy Laurel, which is why I grabbed this audio in the first place.
-.............

Yeah, I'm out of positives. I wanted to like this, I really did. I just didn't. The characters annoyed me. I got tired of hearing the same thing out of their mouths. Oh, he left me, I can't forgive him. I left her to protect her, I will get her back. I just want to see her naked. I can't be with him because he lied. My sister is the most important person ever no matter how often she screws me over. Blah, blah, blah.

I cant' do it when the book constantly repeats the same mantras. Yeah, they may have used different wording, but it was a book full of the same things.

You may like this story. Don't let my review keep you from reading it. Honestly, maybe it just wasn't my day for romance. I did just come off a fantasy high. Maybe this wasn't the right book to follow up that epic-ness. I will never know. I do know I won't be picking up any more Kathy Coopmans books though.
But if this is your jam, if a husband faking his death to protect his wife is what you want to read about, then this book is for you.
If reading about a woman who is devoted to her druggie, lying sister is for you, then this book is one you should read.
If coming face to face with your dead husband and then denying you still love him--despite just going on about how much you love him--is your thing, then Come Back to Me is the second chance for you.

BUT THE NARRATORS ARE GOOD, I'm not narrator hating here.

Emotional love story

I asked to receive this free review Audible book and wrote this unbiased review. This book is an emotional train wreck. Due to various reasons Adriana has lost her parents, husband, sister, and grandmother, in other words, her entire family. We find out that Blake isn't dead, but is hiding from men wanting to kill him. I don't want to give any spoilers, but let me say that when Adriana and Blake reunite there are some very steamy passionate love scenes. I will also say that I was shocked when I learned who identified Blake to the killers. The author put several twists and turns in this story.

I am a fan of these two narrators. They have put their hearts into this story. Lacy lets you feel the heartbreak that Adriana is experiencing. Logan gives Blake the deep caring voice that will soothe Adriana. The narrators are voice artists. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Feel Me, Come Back To Me!

Okay, this is so hard to write. Let me explain. I think I would have loved this book even more if I had read it in its entirety. (Wait for it....) I've had it on my TBR since before it released and yet it took me years to finally get to it. My issue is I started to "read" it in audiobook format. I had a very difficult time with the narrators. I didn't appreciate their style of reading, their emphasis, and their voices just refused to click for me. I broke down and "dusted off" the ebook. Found my exact last location and devoured the remaining 20%. So that being said, I really liked Come Back to Me, I think I would have had a better connection to the story had I not done the audiobook or made the switch sooner. (My need to finish the way I started definitely ruined my odds.)

What I can share is that Kathy Coopmans takes on an intensely emotional storyline. She gives hope and then yanks it back. Shame on her! I felt like a wrung out dishrag. The unforgettable and entirely unfortunate reason for all their pain will make you see red. I have a tendency to be vindictive in my own head, creating terrible things to revenge the ways I've been wronged. I had a field day with the true "villian" in this story. Nothing will change the outcome, but my wandering thoughts made me feel better.

Come Back To Me is not for the faint of heart. I think of it as an emotional pileup on the highway. It starts with the car you see swerving. You can see it. You know nothing good is going to happen. You change lanes all while watching the idiot in your periphery. Trying desperately to avoid being near them, you speed up or slow down so you can keep them as far away as necessary but you know...You just know there is NO WAY to stop it from happening. When it does, you've already braced for impact praying it doesn't hurt as bad as you expect. Come Back To Me is the praying before the impact. You know it's going to hurt, you just don't know how bad. But because you kept your eyes open, you know 100% that even though it will hurt, you have plenty to look forward to. Enjoy the hurt knowing it's only temporary and expect to end it on a smile!

I’m torn, I liked it, but...

I give the story 3.5 and the narrators 5 stars. The story would be higher if the first couple of hours weren’t repetitive. Once you get past that, the story picks up and I enjoyed it.

Lacy & Logan did a fantastic job! I love listening their voices 😃

Good Listen

This was a really good second chance romance which is told in dual POVs.

This is a story about loss and finding the strength to deal with what life throws at you. This is also a story is about hope, forgiveness and betrayal.

I really liked the chemistry between Adriana and Blake and Logan McAllister & Lacy Laurel did a great job narrating and conveying this.

Emotional ride

This book had so many emotions that threw me all over the place. Adriana’s pain was deeply felt with Lacy’s performance and the grief that she endures was heart wrenching. Blake clearly did what he had to in order to protect who he lives most. Kathy Coopmans writes emotional books that tear apart souls but she puts it back together healed. So not the typical second chance love story.

Logan and Lacy do a fabulous job with this audiobook.

Heart breaking

What a tragically sad love story. Adriana had lost so much in her short life. When she finds out that one life changing moment wasn't real, and family members was not being truthful, her entire world changes. Adriana has to make a choice to putting the past behind her and move on. I loved this book and recommend it for a great listen.

Adriana and Blake!

Adriana has endured more loss than anyone should have to, but she is strong and resilient and fights through the pain and despair with the help of her best friend. When she finds our she has inherited a house from her grandmother she decides that a fresh start is what she needs.

Blake has loved Adriana from the first moment that he saw her. He thought nothing could come between them but when left with an impossible choice he chose to protect her by faking his own death. Four years later fate brings them together once more and he is determined to convince her that they belong together but with the past standing between them will this be their second chance or is the pain too much to overcome?

This is a story about forgiveness, healing and second chances filled with emotion, angst and heat. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought the narrators were a good fit for the characters and the emotion of the story. 🎧AudiobookObsession🎧

Emotional listen

This was such a beautifully emotional romance. When I read this book it broke me but that was nothing compare to listening to it as the narrators brought all the emotions to life and broke my heart even more.

Told in dual POV and with two brilliant narrators. Kathy Coopmans has done an amazing job with this story. she has brought us two beautiful broken characters that have so much love for each other its beautiful and painful to watch considering what happens to them. Sometimes love isn't enough but it can also heal and rebuild if you get the chance <3

A 5 star listen for sure!!

I love Kathy Coopmans writing! She write such wonderfully beautiful stories with complex storyline and characters!

This one, deals with second chance love. Adriana has lost everything. Her parents died when she was 18, her sister couldn’t deal with their deaths and turned to drugs and alcohol, her husband dies in a car accident, her sister commits suicide in her home and then her grandmother, the only person she has left, dies as well. She is going through the motions of life, but not really living.

She moves to Michigan, where her grandmother, unbeknownst to her had a house built and left it to Adriana.

Also unbeknownst to her, her husband Blake, is still alive and living in the city she’s moving to. She is furious when she finds out he’s alive.

What happened that made Blake leave her? Why did he never let her know?

There are many secrets that have kept them apart. Can they overcome them? Will they find their way through them and make their way back together?

This book is a wonderful listen and worth every minute of listening time! I give it 5 stars (Jewels). I recommend it highly!!!

Logan McAllister and Lacy Laurel do excellent work with the characters in this! They are wonderful together!
