Publisher's Summary

She's lost everything, except her life....

Lieutenant Lorraine Page once had everything - a devoted husband, two beautiful daughters and an impressive career with the Homicide Squad. It's impossible to believe that she could be thrown out of the police force and end up on Skid Row.

Without Lorraine, her colleagues struggle on, as the hunt for a nightmare serial killer spirals into an all-out search for a missing witness: a victim who escaped.

But Lorraine Page is about to be brought right back into that world again. Against her will she is drawn into the investigation and forced to face her past and her overwhelming guilt....

Based on a true story, the complete and unabridged Lorraine Page trilogy available for the first time in audio.

Not bad story but narrator struggles with character voices

The story was fine - albeit quite dated unsurprisingly. The narrator's voice for the main character was fine but I didn't like her other voices. They all sounded like Disney cartoon characters.

average story, horrible narration

The story is rather average but might still enjoy listening to if one got time to kill, eg. on daily commute, the narration however is absolutely horrible, painful to listen to.

great story.

Another great story by Lynda .Have listened to several of her books 📚 and enjoyed them. This was as good. Enjoyed the storyline and narration. Although some of the characters voices were a little annoying. Apart from that was fine.

Not bad, but not her best.

This book takes forever to get going and I nearly gave up at the start, as there was way too much detail at the beginning, even allowing for establishing characters...... However, I stuck with it and overall, it's a good listen that sucks you in.

Awful narration

I couldn't cope with the narrator doing terrible men's voices - exactly how a child would... the story didn't grip me either but the narration rankled so it was difficult to really get into for me.

Fantastic story

A total 'page turner' that will even have you putting up with the horrible screechy character voices. (CW - main character's journey of redemption does take some time)

Good story, bad male voices

I didn't mind the narrator's voice throughout the book but the male voices were a little annoying at times

Enjoyable

Liking the story but several of the voices are horrible especially Rooney and a few of the women. The narrator’s natural voice is good,if slightly nasal, but she overdoes most of the characters. If you can get past this, the story itself is great.

Narration not so good...

Another great Lynda La Plante crime novel. As usual the storyline was excellent, at times a little dark, but a great read none the less.
My only complaint the narrator. She only had two different kinds of voices for the men and all of them were read with one or other. It was rather annoying as there were a lot of males in this story. One of the male voices was loud irritating & booming you know. It really grated sorry almost ruined the book.
