A superhero tale with real consequences

Great to hear a superhero story with thought given to the consequences not only to the powered, but also to the average bystander. In this tale, the world really turns on the balance of power, and death is a real possibility.

Terrific story and performance

Great narration and a brilliant storyline. Not your usual super hero story that's for sure!

A superhero story from a super writer!

Can’t recommend this book too much. A very quick read because it’s so fast paced, but still tells everything you need to know. Looking forward to, hopefully, a sequel.

Not his best work

Generally love Matthew’s work but would be happy to have given this short story a miss.
The concept had great potential, but it all felt rushed and lazy.
The always fast paced style was present, but there was none of the excitement as the predictable story was filled with poorly described fights and characters you couldn’t care less about.

Maybe short stories aren’t something I enjoy as I wasn’t a fan of troll mountain either.

Good fun short story

Slight predictable but enjoyable and good for a shorter story/car trip. Look forward to the next one.

Different, but interesting

Different, but interesting.
A good twist on the normal superhero theme, a good listen once you get pass initial surprise of story line. Looking forward to next instalment now that pushed through the child like somewhat theme.

Fast pace and entertaining

Short story that is fast paced and entertaining. The plot has some weakness (why was there no plan in place) but overall enjoyable.

it's certainly no Scarecrow or Jack West Jr...

maybe my expectations were too high.
so far I've really enjoyed all of Matthews books, but this one has left me feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.

short, lacking

I liked the story, but it lacked details, and just skipped to key moments. Flash backs were ok, but didn't always fill in the gaps, or were obvious segways.

It seemed short, yet, predictable, and while more details may have made for a more enjoyable experience, the story was leading me to what was likely to happen.

A no surprises story, lacking detail.
