Publisher's Summary

Cocky racing driver Tyler Joseph is sidelined after one risk too many. After being at the center of a fiery crash, he's forced to rest and recover at his best friend's farmhouse or he'll miss the rest of the season. Tyler does what he wants, though, and what he wants right now is the hot, sexy little physical therapist whose hands only touch him where it hurts.

Alec Lands is a sucker for a pretty face, and Tyler's too much temptation to bear. He's promised himself he'll stop dating trouble, but Tyler is flirty, dirty, and stubborn as hell. He can't resist, even though it could end both their careers.

What was supposed to be a one-time thing leads to more. They can't stop. No matter how hard they try, they can't shake this chemistry that pulls them together, and the longer it goes, the worse the consequences of discovery. Tyler's career and Alec's family are as homophobic as each other, and every risk they take could end them forever...but Alec wants to keep up with Tyler's fast-paced life, and Tyler is tired of leaving men in the dust. Can they both resist hitting the brakes on their maybe-forever when it turns out that old habits die hard?

Clutch is a standalone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger.

Loved this!

This is book 5 in the Significant Brothers series and such a great listen! Navigating Tyler and Alec's relationship was absolutely brilliant. I loved the pace of this story. The characters were likeable and well fleshed out. I really enjoyed listening to this one. Greg Boudreaux performed an amazing audio delivery as usual.

Racy and Real

Clutch is another great entry in this terrific Significant Brothers series. Here, our couple is race car driver Tyler, who we actually know little about from the prior books, and Alec, the physical therapist who treats Tyler after Tyler literally crashes and burns on the race track. Tyler and Alec are multi-dimensional characters that work really well together and the story shows how their relationship unfolds and their love develops in a very authentic way. They are racy, steamy and sexy together while also respectful and loving to each other. This story could have so easily fallen into the trite patient falls for the caregiver trope, but refreshingly, it didn't become that at all. The author does some great world-building and threads some low-level background suspense surrounding the competition in the racing community throughout. The romance is not a slow-burn, as this trope typically is, but rather Tyler and Alec get together early on and then grapple with the struggles and issues that arise as they navigate their relationship. It’s also much more laid back than I expected given the personalities of the two MCs, in particular Tyler, the adrenaline junkie. For me, that was a bit of a disappointment because I expected the pace to match the profession (we are talking about race car driving after all). But nevertheless, it still worked. The book, of course, includes the always intriguing Significant Brothers, and, in particular, we get to see more of Josh as a build up to his story in Book 6. Greg Boudreaux’s narration is terrific. He embodies these characters with totally distinct voices and his vocalizing is words packed with emotion. His pacing is just right and his diction is clear and concise. He has a way of delivering spoken lines exactly as you’d hear them if you were there speaking to the character in real life: the pauses, emphasis, breathing, growling, gasping, … all of it. And he delivers the lines by incorporating the context around the line he’s reading. All in all, an excellent job as usual. I definitely recommend this very enjoyable audiobook.

You are my adrenaline

Another lovely and sexy addiction to our Significant brothers collection and this is very exciting and fast-paced! Tyler has always been chasing that heart-thumping adrenaline for all his life. That is until one day where he ended up in a horrible crash and had to stop and take a rest before he continues doing what he loves. And Tyler is as reckless as his racing style when it comes to men too. His cute little physiotherapist Alec whose hands are magic. Two very different men with two very different lives but the lane they are driving is somehow the same. Fast-paced, thrilling, sexy and funny just as always. I loved that connection and understanding between Tyler and Alec as well as their explosive chemistry. And their friends are so cute too. Despite their horrible families, these two men were able to find all the happiness in the world and I love it. Can’t wait to start listening another book in the series. 4.5 You are my adrenaline stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Audio rating Story - 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Narration - 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Performance - 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall - 4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

This sporty romance was a delight to listen to!

I've been having so much fun listening to each of the Significant Brothers fall in love, so I went into this story already expecting to love Tyler and his romantic interest. Alec and Tyler were every bit as adorable as I'd hoped, and I thought the physiotherapist/recovering athlete pairing was an interesting one. For a story with such lively, energetic characters, it was surprisingly mellow. Tyler spent most of the book recovering from his injuries, so there weren't many adrenaline-pumping races to set me on edge. That being said, the more laid-back pace didn't stop me from enjoying this story at all. If anything, it gave me plenty of time to sink my teeth into the wonderfully sweet, steamy attraction between these men. While the growing romance was undeniably the star of this audio, I was very intrigued by the background suspense plot surrounding the racing community. Greg B once again did an excellent job narrating this expansive cast of characters, and as a whole I have no complaints about his performance! **I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

"All He Could Do Was Follow His Heart..."

"Clutch" is the third Significant Brothers audio book I've listened to, and I'm enjoying the series and its overlapping characters. There is instant attraction between injured race car driver Tyler and his physical therapist Alec, who both keep their sexuality quiet for the sake of their professional lives and are not looking for a serious relationship. But in short order their casual hookup leads to feelings as they navigate becoming a couple amid busy careers and some upheaval stemming from Ty's racing accident (the only real source of very low-key angst in this story). This book fits with the overall tone of the series in being a largely sweet and fluffy story with some hot moments, and a breezy listen. Greg Boudreaux is a go-to narrator for me because he never fails to deliver a terrific, engaging performance and that was the case here as well. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Sweet addition

This is another sweet addition to the series. It's a nice light and fluffy read with a little more intrigued than we've had before but overall a pretty uncomplicated and sweet romance. Narration is done well and enhances the story. Overall a nice listen.

Taboo relationship, and a race car driver

The featured trope in Clutch is the taboo relationship -- in this case between patient and physical therapist (was a little confusing at times when they referred to this character as "Doc"). This is another sweet listen in the Significant Brothers series and can be read as a stand-alone since the author gives enough backstory to understand the connection. Each has a little bit of a mystery to be solved and they are wrapped up fairly quickly to keep the angst level low. The narration was good and makes listening to the characters fun and a nice way to pass the time while working on other things. Tyler and Alec made me chuckle out loud quite a bit and had some romantic moments to satisfy my heartfelt needs. I enjoyed listening to Clutch and recommend the whole series for its funny, sweet, low angst, steamy stories.

Tyler and Alec

Clutch is book 5 in the Significant Brothers series. This is a wonderful story about Tyler, a racecar driver, and Alec, a physical therapist. When Tyler is injured in a race Alec becomes his physical therapist. Though these two aren't public with their sexuality they develop feelings for each other. This story has all the feels as Tyler and Alec discover how to be true to themselves as they fall in love with each other. I recommend this book and series. Narrator Greg Boudreaux does a marvelous job.

Loved it!!

The Significant Brothers series is so amazing! I love these guys so much. We finally get Tyler's story now. Him and Alec are so good together. E Davies is so good at creating characters you can just fall in love with. You don't have to read/listen to these in order but it does give each relationship background. And Greg Boudreaux is wonderful as always!

Fast, fun and passionate

I loved learning more about Ty! these two were really well matched and their journey from lust to more was fast, hot and thrilling. I like that this story seemed a little different from the other Significant Brothers stories so far which was refreshing. I loved that Ty was direct, no nonsense and Alec matched him and challenged him at every level. These two were steamy and sweet. I look forward to hearing the final story, Josh's, up next 😍

Hot hot entry in the series

I know very little about racing, but this story of an injured driver and the physical therapist grabbed me from the first and never let go. Both the main characters have reasons to keep the fact that they are gay secret, but their chemistry is off the charts and they decide to take the risk. As always with an E. Davies book he uses the hurt/comfort trope expertly and the HEA is so worth all the bumps in the road taken to get there. Greg Boudreaux brings both the guys to life in his usual expert fashion. We feel both the physical and emotional pain because we can hear it in his performance. We also hear the healing as these two guys realize their relationship is for real. Great author and great performance.

Another great story in this series.

I love Greg Boudreaux's audio performances. He does great character voices and always uses the perfect cadence and vocal inflections when he performs an audiobook. He's done an outstanding job with this series so far. Clutch was an exciting story to read; Tyler and Alec had wonderful chemistry together. I also enjoyed visiting with the other "Significant Brothers." I'm looking forward to listening to the next book in this series. A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Favorite of the series so far!

4.5 stars and my favorite of the series so far! This is definitely a case of instalove, so if that isn’t your bag, it won’t be for you; but it just worked beautifully for me. Tyler and Alec were both aching for love (even if they couldn’t admit it to themselves), and for them to find it with each other made for such a sweet read. Great humor, low angst, an interesting side suspenseful plot, this book just really had it all.

Lots of Humor, Boudreaux is Marvelous

Tyler and Alec are the perfect opposites attract couple. From the moment they meet they can't deny the spark and, try as they might, they keep finding themselves working their way back together. There's plenty of humor in Clutch, and E. Davies keeps outdoing themselves in the creative coupling department (LOL). Clutch is the fifth book in E. Davies Significant Brothers series. One by one we've seen these guys find love, and we're down to just one more brother! All six books are beautifully performed by Greg Boudreaux.

Good book, good series

I read this book last year, but just listened in audio Love this series and this book is just as good as the others. Each book can be read independently but it's also good to read in order as the brothers are always mentioned. Tyler who's a gay race driver but not out in the racing scene, meets Alec who's family are anti gay. Can they make it work regardless of what the world thinks of them. Again Ed writes a wonderful book with a HEA. Greg does an excellent job narrating this book, as he did with the others. This is a lovely book, as is the whole significant brothers series, they are so much fun. Clutch Significant Brothers, Book 5 By: E. wonderful!

One of the things I really love about this book series is that every storyline is very unique. I like it that they are not repetitive. The found family theme is also something I adore in this series. I also like catching up with the characters from the older books and I'm always looking forward for the next one. Tyler and Alec were beautiful together. They had great chemistry and their relationship grew organically. I loved Tyler's playful personality and Alec's back story really touched me. It was a great addition to the series and the narrator was absolutely fantastic!
