About this listen
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Close to Home by Cara Hunter, read by Emma Cunniffe and Lee Ingleby. Featuring 37 cameo voices, including Cara Hunter.
How can a child vanish without a trace?
Last night, 8-year-old Daisy Mason disappeared from a summer party at her home. No one at the party noticed her leave. Even her parents aren't sure of the last time they saw her. DI Adam Fawley is trying to keep an open mind. But he knows that in nine cases out of ten, it's someone close to the victim.
When a pair of bloody tights is discovered, Fawley's worst suspicions are concerned.
Someone knows where Daisy is.
And her time is running out.
Introducing DI Fawley and his team of Oxford detectives, Close to Home is the first in the new crime series readers and authors are raving about.

You'll never guess who done it!
I really enjoyed listening to this, thought I had it figured, but no,very clever . Great use of different voices and some truly unpleasant characters. The only thing that I loathed was the 'tweets'. Skipped over them in the end

A Real Pager Turner!!!
By far the best crime, detective, police novel I’ve ever read! More twists and turns than I could have imagined but all totally believable once the reader is familiar with the characters. Highly recommend this book.

I liked the book but not the end
Sometimes the British stories plays to a different audience, this one definitely did. If you like the style, you'll love the book. I personally didn't like the social media comments. I will read book 2...

Enjoyable book ... BUT I DID GUESS THE OUTCOME EARLY
I read a lot of this genre and once a particular character came on scene I suspected the eventual outcome. ... I was however still kept guessing ..as the storyline twisted and turned. Overall a very enjoyable book.

A great read!
I found this book really captivating from start to finish; couldn't put it down, so to speak!
I'm just disappointed that Book 2 in the DI Fawley series doesn't seem to be available on Audible AU :( Book 3 is available, but I can't live like that...not that there was a cliffhanger or anything (as I've experienced with other series suddenly not finding resolution in audio form!), but I really wanted to continue the series when I finished this one, and I couldn't so if you're similarly inclined, be mindful :-)

Keeps you guessing
Really enjoyed the narration. Another review hated it but I enjoyed the different layers of perspective it provided- very enjoyable.
Storyline and going back in the timeline also provided good storytelling. Recommend this!
