How can a child vanish without a trace?

Last night, 8-year-old Daisy Mason disappeared from a summer party at her home. No one at the party noticed her leave. Even her parents aren't sure of the last time they saw her. DI Adam Fawley is trying to keep an open mind. But he knows that in nine cases out of ten, it's someone close to the victim.

When a pair of bloody tights is discovered, Fawley's worst suspicions are concerned.

Someone knows where Daisy is.
And her time is running out.

Introducing DI Fawley and his team of Oxford detectives, Close to Home is the first in the new crime series readers and authors are raving about.

Great read

Really enjoyed this book. Couldn’t put it down. A lot of speculating and getting it wrong, even right to the end!

I liked the book but not the end

Sometimes the British stories plays to a different audience, this one definitely did. If you like the style, you'll love the book. I personally didn't like the social media comments. I will read book 2...

You'll never guess who done it!

I really enjoyed listening to this, thought I had it figured, but no,very clever . Great use of different voices and some truly unpleasant characters. The only thing that I loathed was the 'tweets'. Skipped over them in the end

A great read!

I found this book really captivating from start to finish; couldn't put it down, so to speak!

I'm just disappointed that Book 2 in the DI Fawley series doesn't seem to be available on Audible AU :( Book 3 is available, but I can't live like that...not that there was a cliffhanger or anything (as I've experienced with other series suddenly not finding resolution in audio form!), but I really wanted to continue the series when I finished this one, and I couldn't so if you're similarly inclined, be mindful :-)

Intriguing!

I loved this one! I thought it might be underwhelming, but really, it was great.
There are so many points of surprise, so many suspecting moments, but I was never overwhelmed or confused. I feel that the author did a great job plotting out this story and making sure everything lined up. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and the ending was just wonderful, in every way.

The male narrator is wonderful and I really enjoyed his parts. I did not enjoy the female narrator. I found her very wishy-washy and constantly sighing or smacking her lips to emphasise a part, when really I just wanted clear enunciation.

All over, I'm so happy to find this one! Looking forward to more!

A twist at every turn.

When little Daisy Mason goes missing, the race is on to find her. But as Police uncover secrets about the Mother and Father, the plot to Daisy's disappearance thickens.

What a fantastic read. I couldn't put this book down. It had me guessing at every chapter. I could cread it again and still find more clues.

I can't wait for book 2.

Such a rollercoaster ride

This book has been one of the best books I have read for ages. An avid detective/thriller reader I get through so many. Only a few in years do you come across such a great read. This book has everything and is also just the right amount. Some can overdo things , go on or some finish and you say where is the ending. Not this you have a puzzle with twists and turns as you go This is not a straight forward detective who done it and why. You have storie within story and one minute you think it’s part solved it’s just ripped out beneath you and it follows another path. Also as I said deep character stories even in within each side detective and main event. Then twists at the end yet again. This book had me wanting never to put it down and when I wasn’t reading I wish I was. I’m definitely going to hunt out and read everything this author has done. I’m very picky with narration voices too and this was so well chosen and a match made in heaven not just thrown together. Thank you for such a great read I’m sad it had to end.

Real intriguing mystery

I just couldn’t stop listening to this heart stopping heartfelt book. The narration was excellent and the twists turns red herrings numerous! Also the lead detective’s own background was another mystery you were intrigued by. Can’t wait to get another by this author.

What a twist at the end!!!

Story was very engaging, kept me guessing as to who did it.
My only dislike was the constant Twitter references and if I had been reading this book I would have skipped these pages.
The actors reading the story were superb.

excellent

This book kept me returning to listen with great eagerness. Being from the area that the book is set I found it just that much more interesting as I could picture the setting with ease. The book has an interesting and very engaging plot that builds with consistency throughout. Some very good twists within the plot. However I was a bit shocked with the ending. But all in all a most enjoyable listen. The narrators were very easy to listen too however whilst listening I could only picture Endeavour Morse as the narrator sounded so much like him. Maybe it was that plus the Oxford connection that I enjoyed so much?
