Publisher's Summary

I close my eyes and feel my heart begin racing. Someone is coming. They're going to find me.

A mother and her teenage daughter are found brutally murdered in a remote farmhouse, one defiled by multiple stab wounds and the other left lying like Sleeping Beauty waiting for her Prince. Reluctantly, clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin is drawn into the investigation when a former student, calling himself the Mindhunter, trading on Joe's name, has jeopardised the police inquiry by leaking details to the media and stirring up public anger.

With no shortage of suspects and tempers beginning to fray, Joe discovers links between these murders to a series of brutal attacks where the men and women are choked unconscious and the letter A is carved into their foreheads. As the case becomes ever more complex, nothing is quite what it seems, and soon Joe's fate, and the fates of those closest to him, become intertwined with a merciless, unpredictable killer....

Michael R is one of the best writers today

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Along with all his books, it's one of the best books I've read. Boy, can he write superbly, with great emotion but certainly never flowery or overdone.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Close Your Eyes?

The last few chapters, following Joe's chase and then later, the dreadful sorrow.

Any additional comments?

get it, and the others, if you love suspense, mystery, real life relationships, and excellent writing; don't delay!

Another winner

Had to suspend disbelief a time or two - I couldn't see Joe letting Charlie get into the dangers she was in.
But overall a bloody good story.

Robotham is a master.

I emotionally lived these books. They are more than “who done it’s” they are a peek into the backstory of the main characters and there is something voyeuristic about that. They are a great group of characters but no one is without fault.
Unfortunately I read the series out of sequence and so I know how the series ends and so that gave me some insights as to how this book (the second last in the series) ends. Regardless it’s a great book and an even better series.

Brilliant as usual

The story is far-fetched, sometimes with too many things going on, but the character description and writing was brilliant as usual.
