„Clementine Holm“ ist eine Novelle von Gabriele Reuter: Frau Clementine Holm wohnte in einem Hause, dessen rechte Seite das Freskogemälde eines Drachens mit blauem Kopf und gelbem Schweif zeigte, während sich links von der Eingangstür drei Mandarinenbäume und eine große Sonne mit einem Menschengesicht befanden. Frau Clementine war begeistert von diesen primitiven Malereien und hatte das Haus nur um ihretwillen gewählt, trotzdem seine Lage im Levantiner Viertel unbequem war und auch nicht für comme il faut galt. Sie hatte eine Neigung zum Ungewöhnlichen und gab der deutschen Kolonie in Alexandrien einige Jahre hindurch reichlichen Anlass, sich mit ihr zu beschäftigen; bis sie dann stiller wurde und endlich ganz still.
