About this listen

Classified is the final book of the Elite series and should only be listened to after book one, Danger Zone, and book two, Need for Speed.

They train to serve their country. They strive to be the best. But only a select few can be...the Elite.

Mateo Morgan

Call sign: Solo

Reckless, arrogant, and bold, Solo is as known in the US Navy for his bad-boy reputation as he is for his skills as a fighter pilot. It’s a surprise to his peers, then, when he’s chosen to train and compete at the most prestigious naval aviation academy in the world.

Mission rules:

  1. Kick everyone’s ass.
  2. Do whatever it takes to win.
  3. Do your best to distract the competition.
  4. Especially when that competition is a gorgeous blue-eyed perfectionist who makes your blood run hot.

Just gotta say, The Elite is not a series, it's one book separated into three parts, and it is best enjoyed thinking of it as one book, not three. So I'm gonna review it as one book.

With that out of the way.

I enjoyed it. I liked the characters. I liked the competitiveness and I'm glad that wasn't lost even after they got together. There were a few moments towards the end that got a little too... mushy. At least for me. But I think other readers would enjoy it. All in all, a great book. Just wish it had been sold as one book, not three.

Loved it

Fighter Jet excercises against each other to win a Trophy being called Elite is what its all about. The two main Navy men were polar opposites but complimented each other on the Flying excercises and in their private lives fall in Love. Excellent Naration again.

Classified was the perfect ending to the series. A little bit of drama as these 2 try and find a balance between their career and relationship. I'm really glad I listened to the audiobooks, as the narrators really made the series very enjoyable to listen to - they were both cast perfectly for their characters.

Not sure this series really need to be 3 instalments - the audios (although fabulous) were very quick listens and could easily have been compacted into 2 instalments.

So, this was one book, split into 3 short novellas. It could’ve been one book in 3 parts. The cliffhangers didn’t call for another novel - they were just chapter endings. It could also have been edited down significantly, as each chapter summarised the ending of the previous chapter; which works for episodic TV but wasn’t necessary in a book.

The story was fun though - welcome to gay Top Gun, with 2 alpha male fighter pilots battling it out for the top spot in an elite training program… aaaaand in the bedroom/against doors/walls/beaches/cliffs lol. It was fun. The other elite training pilots were great side characters, as were their best friends.
