Publisher's Summary

My sweet captive doesn't like to be touched. She will learn. She no longer has the right to refuse.

She flinches at the sight of my scarred face, but the way she whimpers and trembles makes perverse pleasure stir within me. I captured the little FBI agent while she was trying to take down my drug empire, and I can't allow that.

No one will ever touch her again - especially not my cruel brother.

Samantha is mine to keep and protect. Mine to play with and punish. All mine.

Contains the events of Sweet Captivity, told from the perspective of Andrés.

Narrator

I love Joe Arden’s narrations but in this one he’s supposed to be Colombian and his accent actually is Mexican. Maybe some people won’t notice but I’m Latina and I can notice the difference. He did a great job anyway.

You can skip book #1

This is basically a retelling of book one from Andres POV. I liked this one better. Seeing his POV made you understand what was going on so much more. It felt much less like a Stockholm Syndrome story, and one of two people who were basically captive, I saw it more of a story of two people coming together doing what they can to survive the situation they are in, rather than a woman held captive and falling for her kidnapper.
Narration was excellent, book one says it's dual narration but there is no male narration. This one is 100% male narration.

I liked it even more than the first book.

I was a little concerned about essentially buying the same book a second time...hearing the same story from Andrés' point of view...how different could it be? I'm SO glad that I did! The story and narration were wonderful. I definitely liked this version much more than the first one!

Did Mot Enjoy Narration

The book Sweet Captivity basically read by the male character. It’s supposed to be the male’s POV, but there was nothing added. I was hoping for some digging into Andres mind since I read Sweet Captivity, which I found fairly enjoyable, but this book was basically Joe Arden reading it back in a horrible accent with no emotion. Usually I like Joe Arden’s narration, but not in this case. Ugh it was dry. I actually liked the original book better. I listened to both for free. Definitely wouldn’t waste a credit for this version.

Terrible

This was terrible and the first book I didn’t finish. What a terrible storyline. This guy is sick and the poor girl. Don’t waste your time unless you like rape and torture.

This did not work!

if I hadn't already read my sweet captive this one would have been awful. The only thing it did was fill in a few gaps about Andreas and his motivation. The writing was stilted and I'm not fond of him at all. The narrator was monotoned, I don't think he liked the book either.

Absolutely Loved it!

Definitely worth listening to! If you love Dark Romance and BDSM, this book is a must read. If you have sexual triggers then this book is not for you! These books are my favorite!!! The villan turns out to be an anti-villan and the hero in the dark love story!

Great narrator! I am a huge fan of Joe Arden!

Hot

Can a female FBI agent and a Columbian career criminal find love and happiness.? You will have to finish the book to learn that. This book contains hot sex and heartbreaking angst. There was just one minor problem. While I enjoy listening to books narrated by Joe Arden, this time his accent was a bit off. He was supposed to be Columbian, but his English had a definite Mexican tone to it. The intonation was definitely that of a Mexican hoodlum speaking English. It was not enough to ruin the book for me.

Listen to the other title first

Oh my gosh! I LOVED this. This was so stimulating. I didn't want to miss a minute. I listened to the other title first and was so glad because it left me anticipating each scene that I knew was coming. Also I don't think her perspective is written as well as his so it's better to listen to hers first so that you're not disappointed by the writing of it. I've listened to hundreds of not a thousand hours of romance and this is a fantastic piece. Definitely I will listen again.

A Total Turnoff!

I tried to keep going with the story but there was so many things that turned me off from the very start I just had to bail.
I usually like Joe Arden as a narrator, but the accent he uses in the story was just one big, turn off. The description of Samantha was the same. Nothing sexy about either character. Sadly, there wasn't anything appealing in this one for me and the story was stale from the start.

Almost 100% the same

It was disappointing that this book had so little original content. I expected to hear more about Andres and more about his point of view but most of the book is a word for word repetition of the previous book. Extremely disappointed. The performance was really good though.

disappointing

I thought this was a waste of my credit as it is exactly the same as book one in the series only difference is the sex of the narrator. I didn't learn anything new from this book. I feel it's a piss take when authors do this. I love Joe Arden but his Spanish accent in this narration was annoying. Absolutely disappointed.
