About this listen

With the Royal Air Force inflicting serious losses on the Luftwaffe, the German high command changes their tactics and move away from trying to eliminate the air threat, to bombing the civilian population into submission.

As the high explosives rain down on London’s East End, the country buckles under the strain and the casualties mount. Winston Churchill is under the increasing pressure of public opinion, but still remains positive, knowing that an experimental radar could turn the tide of the battle.

Meanwhile, Gyles Stansbury, a German spy who owns a used book store in London, has become aware of the impending wedding of Wolf Kruger and Madeline, which is to take place at the Churchill Estate. He hatches an ambitious plot to kidnap the prime minister and deal with the treacherous Kruger at the same time.

A commando team, along with agents of the evil Gestapo organisation, will parachute into the estate and take control of Churchill and his guests the night before the wedding. A plane will then land near Chartwell and spirit the prime minister to Germany. All of this will be done inside the security ring, which has been moved away from the estate for the privacy of the wedding.

In the opulent surroundings of Chartwell, people will die, heroes will be made, and the lines between good and evil will be blurred forever.
