Publisher's Summary
This compilation contains episodes 7 - 9: THE BODY IN THE LAKE, SNOWBLIND and PLAYING DEAD.
Here Jack and Sarah are called to task when the body of a dignitary turns up in a lake - with all too many suspects involved. A resident of the retirement home falls victim to the elements in one of Cherringham's worst blizzard in years - but was there something sinister at work here? And Cherringham Christmas show rehearsals spin into chaos as someone is out to sabotage the event with deadly repercussions.
Cherringham is a serial novel à la Charles Dickens, with a new mystery thriller released each month. Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.
For fans of Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple series", Lilian Jackson Braun's "The Cat Who series", Caroline Graham's "Midsomer Murders", and the American TV series "Murder She Wrote", starring Angela Lansbury.
Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and - most recently - the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.

I've read the previous instalments of this series and I've loved them all! After way too many psychological thrillers these were enjoyable mysteries.
In each episode, you'll learn a little more about Sarah and Jack (the main characters). Character development is steady and delightful.

What did you love best about Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series Compilation (Cherringham 7 - 9)?
Each story is a perfect cozy mystery read by a talented actor,. The stories are linked together by two characters and their interactions with family and community. If I were M.C. Just wonderful..
THE BODY IN THE LAKE
Okay, there was a murder in this one. Sarah and Jack had to figure out who killed the Mayor of a small town in France, who was trying to pull out of the “twinning” deal being put together between his town and Cherringham. Another surprise as to why he was really killed and the exciting way he was caught.
SNOWBLIND
Another good little mystery, about an old man who left a nursing home one night during a blizzard and got lost in the woods and froze to death. Of course there was more to it than that and Jack and Sarah had to find out what was going on at Broadmead Grange Nursing Home that one of their residents ended up dead and the home itself was without power when Jack and Sarah took another of the residents home.
PLAYING DEAD
Loved these 3 novellas, too. This time Sarah and Jack had to figure out who wanted to shut down the theater even before it open for the first performance. One “accident” after another, almost killing two people. And even though no one died it was still a sad ending after they got the would be killer and found out his story. I was glad that Jack and Alan, the cop, were going to try to help the bad guy, who wasn’t really so bad.
There was no romance or swearing in this compilation. Totally rated G.
As to the narration: Neil Dudgeon was, as usual, awesome. I mean, there wasn’t an emotion this man didn’t express in his reading. That best was how he laughed EVERY SINGLE TIME it was called for. And there were a lot of times either Sarah or Jack laughed. Spectacular narration.

If you could sum up Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series Compilation (Cherringham 7 - 9) in three words, what would they be?
Clever, intriguing, page turner
What other book might you compare Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series Compilation (Cherringham 7 - 9) to, and why?
Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series 1-3 and 4-6. All of them are brilliantly written who dunnits. Unusual to have an ex NYPD detective investigating crime in and around an English village with a local computer wiz but, it really works.
Which character – as performed by Neil Dudgeon – was your favourite?
Definitely Jack. Mr Dudgeons voice characterisation is very convincing and Jack is written as a totally believable character.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Not so cosy
Any additional comments?
Every story in the series that has been translated into English is very good. Are of a very high standard and you rarely guess the criminal before the end as there are many twists and turns. I really hope Audible start selling the rest of the series as I can't wait to listen to them all

Lovely simple stories, well read.
Just what you need when taking the dog out every day. Neil Dudgeon takes on the real mix characters and brings the stories alive.

Cheap and cheerful?
Bought as a Xmas present to me , a whim really, but I really really have enjoyed this set of books. The stories are easy light and a acceptable even for my grand daughter to listen to. The narrative was excellent. Thank you so much looking forward to more crimes in Cherringham

Great stories as ever
Really enjoyed listening to these stories. Great for winding down to before bed. Particularly enjoyed episode 9 which reminded me of Agatha Christie.

Relaxing afternoon listening
I am enjoying series having started episode 1 and have just downloaded series 10 - 12, just easy listening which is sometimes required. Neil Dudgeon is a very good choice to carry out the reading.
