Publisher's Summary

Lion shapeshifter Agent Chase Payne doesn't have time for distractions - especially the kind that involve his best friend's younger sister. He has a job to do: leading his team of Therian agents to fight against those who would expose their kind to the world.

Lora Oliver wants to be a Therian agent, but secrets from her past have damaged the bond between her human and animal natures, and threaten to destroy everything she's worked so hard for, along with the people she loves.

Assigned to Chase's team, Lora struggles to retain control and keep her secrets buried, while Chase denies what he feels for Lora. And then, one kiss changes everything.

Female Narrator needs work.

I couldn’t stand the woman narrator voice! The story might have been better with another female voice

Big Cats and a jaguar

What ruined it for me was the female's voice. If someone else read it I think that it would have been pretty exciting.

Same as written

The overall story was good. The younger sister of therein agency is in love with her brother's friend and one of the head guys, Chase.

An incident earlier created a problem with her inner lion. Then during training he'd fired for a mistake. Humiliated she goes out with another shifter. Not a good idea for many reasons.
Chase sees her and tries to ignore her.
While the story is good, the two narrators sound stilted. It distracts from the story

The Chase is on

Title: Chasing Payne
Author: C.M. Seabrook
Rating: 5 STARS

Because of traumatic events in his childhood Chase has spent most of his life not wanting a mate.
Lora has spent most of her life knowing that Chase was the one for her.
Five years again there was a tragic incident that caused her to suppress her lioness.

While working for the Therian Counsel Lora finds herself in trouble on one particular assignment. That assignment causes a spiral of events to happen.

What will Chase do to save Lora's life?

I loved this book. This is my second read.
The audio was great. The Male did a great job. The female did a wonderful job.
The only complaint I have is I wished the Female had more feeling in her voice when she read. For instance when she screamed Chase's name I wish she screamed it or when she was mad or hurt she let those feelings come through. For the most part it was great all around. I highly recommend this audio.
