About this listen

Since its publication in 1952, Charlotte's Web has become one of America's best-loved children's books. For fifty years, this timeless tale of how a little girl named Fern, with the help of a friendly spider, saved her pig Wilbur from the usual fate of nice fat little pigs has continued to warm the hearts of readers everywhere.

Now this classic, a 1953 Newbery Honor book, comes to life in a delightful unabridged recording, read lovingly by the author himself.

Beautifully detailed characters and plug that allows the exploration of these interpersonal relationships. The story explores themes of friendship, connection with nature and death in a frank and honest way with its audience. I love this book.

Had this read to me as a boy and cried. Read it as a grown man and cried. Waving goodbye to Charlotte with one leg. I am so glad Templeton didn't follow his nature and eat the egg sack.

I remember reading this story as a young girl, then reading it to my three daughters. Listening to the author E.B White’s narration was simply perfect. The memories and the emotions of a simpler time. Everyone should experience this book at least once in a lifetime.
