I loved Helter Skelter having first read it when it was released as a book and never thought any book would be better that that, however, this book is terrific, the author has been given indepth knowledge by whoever he has interviewed, they have opened up to him to a degree that Helter Skelter doesnt come close to. This book captures the time and characters wonderfully, an excellent, chilling book from first to last page. Brilliantly written.

Best book written about Charlie and the Family

this book does a great job of telling Charles Manson's life from birth, not just the Tate/Labianca murders. I don't think he could have turned out any other way than the monster he became. This book does a great job of detailing where his motivations (and later paranoia) stem from. It also gives good detailed accounts of others from the 'Manson Family'.

A good detailed look at Manson's life.
