One of the best stories I have read in the past few months
Since I read so many historical romance books after a few years I realize I am getting bored with the gratuity sex (which I normally like when it's done well) and silly dialogue or storylines. I can truly say that this book was refreshing in that I was not only on the edge of my seat but also the love story and how it was built was Beautiful. ❤️. The love was built wonderfully. Yes there were a few things hero said that is how women wish men would talk like and express their feeling like but it was a bit unrealistic for my taste. Those parts were however infrequent occurrences. Adored this book.

A good story nevertheless I struggled to finish it
The author left nothing to imagination and added more drama then necessary. Rosalyn struggled to make the obvious interesting. Save your money.

Knew Who Killer Was & How It Was Done in 1st Hour
I knew who killer was and how it was done within the first hour of this book. Waste of time. Way too drawn out. I usually like this author's books, but this was a no brainer.

Okay story, a bit melancholy maybe??
So this was an okay story, but seemed a bit melancholy sometimes. I was glad the ending had a surprise twist to it, but I did figure it out way ahead of time.
Story line and plot... Where to start.. Well, it was okay, I finished it. But it was difficult. I like my hero's strong with a tad of arrogance. Gideon was strong and sexy and accepting of his condition but it just seemed sad at times. I liked Eve and I liked that she didn't give up. I was glad when they figured out what was wrong.
There was a lot of dialogue throughout the entire book so that was a plus, it wasn't full of repetitiveness as some Laura Landon books have been.
As for the narration, Rosalyn Landor did fine. If you listened to her before, it's still the same. Her reading voice sounds a lot like the men's voices. But at least she does do a man's voice.

Cast in Shadows
The story had a lot of potential but unfortunately, I found myself rolling my eyes and getting frustrated throughout. I feel like there was a lot of repetition of feelings, physical description of people and things/places. About 10 chapters could have easily been eliminated without taking away from the overall story. Eve and Gideon did not have strong characters as I would have expected. Also, I think for the time period Eve seems to have too much freedom (i-e her father deferred to her in a lot of things and also in her dealings with Gideon). Not sure I will read this author again.

Heart Pounding Regency Mystery & Romance
If you enjoy reading or listening to Regency romance with a mystery to solve, Cast in Shadows is for you! Author Laura Landon took me on an emotional roller coaster where I couldn’t stop listening to it. I even took a 1 ½ lunch just to finish it after arriving to work one day. The story was refreshing and, despite figuring out who the villain was about half-way through the book, I was on the edge of my seat because I became so enthralled in the characters. I couldn’t help but feel empathy for Gideon, who seemed on all accounts normal, noble, and honorable, while at the same time he suffered from seizures that became debilitating and he became dangerous at the same time.
Ten years after being locked away from society, Gideon meets Eve who is his doctor’s daughter after she returns from school. She becomes his nurse trying to figure out what triggers his seizures. After spending so much time together it becomes provident that they fall in love with each other. One of the things I enjoyed most about this book is that Gideon’s and Eve’s love story evolves slowly and naturally; and most importantly, there is no gratuitous sex. In fact, there is only one “behind closed doors” sex scene near the end of the book – just like I enjoy listening to.
As an added bonus, the irrefutably talented Rosalyn Landor narrates Cast in Shadows and her narration is simply sublime. In summary, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook and recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical romance with more substance and emotional punch.

At Chp. 4 y have guess at the story and antagonist
I am sure I understood and have guessed the storyline and know the plot. I am now on pins and needles at how it is all revealed. I think I want to go to the end of the book now.

A tad ponderous
I got through it. I have never figured out how 7/8 of the book is spent on the intro and 1/8th on dealing with the bad guy. The bad guy is is the main character. I want to know what's going on inside the mind of the bad guy and what the bad guy feels when dreaming up his nefarious and other dirty deeds. Why make me my go through all this drama just to have the story end like a Korean soap opera?
