Publisher's Summary

Music mogul Rowena Krebs is now a legend - she’s even made it to the Hall of Fame. Her old rival, now best friend, Topaz Rossi, is the designer-clad top dog at American Magazines.

Both women are happily married - and life seems sweet. But things are changing: Rowena senses a shift both in business and maybe on the home front.

Topaz knows her circulation figures are dropping but not what is wrong with her husband. And when you wear the crown, hidden enemies lurk in the shadows, waiting for the moment to strike. Paradise can be deceiving - if the past is on your trail.

Not this one

Just unable to read this book totally boring. I have every book Louise Mensch (Bagshawe) has written and they are awesome however just cannot get past first couple of chapters of this book.

Nostalgia with a rushed ending!

I was a massive fan of career girls, I still own my well thumbed copy from the nineties! I resurrected it for a train ride to Edinburgh in 2015 and it stood up to the test of time. I was thrilled to find I could check in on Rowena and Topaz and see where their lives had taken them. It was a solid fabulous story, time and success had weathered our heroines, but they were still two of my favourite characters ever. But it's almost like Louise ran out of steam in the second half of the book, it raced to the end faster than Usain Bolt. If you loved Louise Bagshawe novels you'll love this, but you'll no doubt feel a bit cheated towards the end!
