Story
The mission Jonah White Eagle and his Fierce Eagle Company had taken was nearly impossible. Land on the middle of a 7.5-mile-high plateau, walk six miles to the edge of the cliff, and scale down the 39,000-foot-high cliffs to the foothills of the canyon below. Nothing to it, right? But then there was the swamp they had to cross, full of large indigenous life forms that thought Humans made good snacks. And the rivers, full of other killers, they would have to negotiate.

Story
Staff Sergeant Markus ‘Spartan’ Nicolos is one of the Intelligence Department’s best. A hacker who can beat any code, he’s in charge of communications intercepts for the Golden Horde’s Computer Operations section. Spartan used to be a frontline CASPer pilot - until he lost his entire squad in an ambush. He also lost his edge in the attack, and he swore he would never pilot a CASPer in combat again. Everything changed, though, when he came up with an idea for a new type of scout CASPer - one that would prevent what happened to him from ever happening again.

wasted potential
interesting premise but relatively weak execution. nonexistent/poorly displayed world building which was disappointing as I'd have loved to have explored the world more. flat characters and weak inorganic interactions. no character growth. no real rising action/climax. it all seemed a bit rushed. didnt enjoy it in the slightest until about half way through. frequent recurring usage of the offensive term "midget." decent prose though a bit disjointed at times. theres potential here but an overhaul needs to be done, I may pick up the next one if I'm bored or lacking for reading material.
narrator was decent. no real vocal range or character differentiation. pacing was weak, had to listen to it at 1.65x speed for it to be tolerable. spoke clear and concise with good enunciation however there were several words not pronounced phonetically correct.

Decent performance by the narrator.
Horrible story. I fell asleep about an hour in, and am just deleting it from my BlackBerry. I am returning it to Audible and getting a refund.
