Publisher's Summary

What will happen when my secrets are exposed?

I’m lying to my mom about how I make my living.

I’m lying to the Ballsy Boys about my life.

I’m lying to myself about who I am.

I pretend to be Campy, but I am Cameron. But does anyone even know the real me?

When I meet my new roommate, a sexy Texan cowboy and break-out TV star named Jackson, all my lies start to come out. He makes me want to be myself, but I’ve spun so many lies that I don’t even know who I am anymore. The more I fall for him, the more I worry that all my secrets will destroy us before we have a chance to be together.

Good thing Jackson has a stubborn streak and won’t give up so easily.

Campy is the fourth book in the Ballsy Boys Production series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone, but it’s more fun listening to the series in order. Featuring one very confused man who's lucky enough to have a room mate who knows exactly what he wants.

This One's A Sweet One!

I find this story really sweet, despite Campy's backstory. I enjoyed listening to Campy's self discovery. I like learning about him too. Then here comes Jackson. The way these two gravitate towards each other and eventually fall for each other is worth the listen.

And Kenneth Obi's narration with that Texas twang! So good!

Five stars!!!

Gay for Pay

Jackson is new and had replied to Cameron's ad for a roommate. He has a part in a new TV show that hired him for his real Texan accent. Jackson wanted to follow his dreams no matter what and decided to do so without his parents knowing.

Cameron isn't happy with his life. He wants to go to Vet school but right now his mother is first priority so he has to work harder at his second job. A job he hopes doesn't come to bite him in the butt. He works at Ballsy Boys one of the best gay studios because it pays better, He has no issue with the sex except for the fact as he is not gay.
Jackson is attracted to Campy right away but when he finds out that Cameron says he isn't gay he is hurt. they become good friends.
This series has such great characters and I missed Heart and Tank so I say you can read out of order though I do recommend reading Rebel first as it does set up the series and introduce most of the guys.
I listened to it in audio and as usual Kenneth Obi gives a great performance. This was my first of his cowboy or western accents and oh my gosh it was great. Jackson just made me swoon. And usually, a man giving a woman voice is just weird but Kenneth made Campy's mom's voice perfect. soft and not squeaky. The action is always great and the sex scenes...oh my!
So we get Gay for Pay, Friends to Lovers, either a gay for you or repressed bi and such a sweet romance.

Lots of secrets and ‘coming out’s’

Not your typical coming out tale. Campy is the one Ballsy Boy who, throughout the series, is the most mysterious. We find out in this book that Campy is keeping a ton of secrets, trying to keep his real life separate from his on-set life in the studio. This series is usually heavy on the scenes from Ballsy Boys, but this story deviates a bit in that most of it is focused on Campy’s private life. We finally get to meet his mystery roommate, a sexy cowboy working his way towards stardom. Both have their personal struggles, and it is fun watching them find their way to happiness.

Perfectly imperfect

First off this story is sweet and much more of a slow burn than the other titles in this series. Campy is the ballsy boy we know the least about and following his story of finding love where he least expects it is rewarding and grin inducing.

Now I also want to mention that tho brief I loved this story for mentioning some very real bisexual issues, such as Bi Erasure and how it can be so deeply ingrained in straight culture, gay culture and even within ones self. Thank you for this silly smart book.

pointless secret keeping

I had a hard time believing Campy could be so confused about himself even though he had a loving, accepting mother, a job as a GAY porn star, and no traumatic events involving sexuality. It's honestly ridiculous. The one thing that makes me have to accept it was the concept of Bi Erasure. But it's still outlandish to me. And I really dont understand why he thought he had to hide his whole life from the guys as if he'd be in danger otherwise. Everyone did, and it seemed so pointless. You're close enough to fuck but not close enough to talk about your goals in life? wat

Fourth book in the series

Another sweet and sexy story about one of the ballsy boys. Cam lives two separate lives and tries hard to keep it that way but the lyes eats on him. And he’s living his lies so well that he might not even know what’s really true.
Kenneth did an amazing job with the characters and I love Jackson’s accent.

Great performance but incredibly boring

Wow what a let down.

This has to be one of the best narrations in the series so far. Its very well down and I was surprised how good it wss.

But.

Wow this was a boring read.
I was noy entertained at all. I feel like the balance here is way off. Its like a snails pace crawl of a burn. This time the Erotic moments that usual help alleviate the pace where nowhere to be found.

The tension is very superficial feeling. None of it makes much sense, is believable and we all knows what going to go down.

I'm sorry but i do no recommend =/ I really wish i skipped this one.

Loved it!

A great book, written by great authors and narrated by a great narrator. The forth book in the Ballsy Boys series and my second favorite. I loved the characters, the friendships and the way their relationships developed throughout the book.
Like with all of his narrations, Kenneth Obi did an amazing job! He gave fitting voices to the characters and portrayed all the emotions, making this book come to life. I absolutely recommend this audiobook and will definitely listen to it again.

The pornstar and the cowboy.

As his producer told him when he audiciend for his role in a new series to be filmed in LA, you can get the cowboy out of Texas but you can never get the cowboy out of the man, Jackson's life turns upside down when he reacts to Cameron's advertising for a new roommate. It's love on first sight for him but Cameron thinks he's straight. To pay for the medical bills to support his mum who has been diagnosed with MS, he works as the gay pornstar Campy at Ballsey Boys and in his free time at the wild sanctuary to satisfy his need to become a vet. When Jackson finds out about that, he is even more confused. Because all he wants with Cameron is living together forever in a little ranch house with a white fence and their animals. Will Cameron finally be able to leave the lies behind him and gladly take what Jackson offers him? An amazing friends to lovers and realisation of being bi story in which of course we meet up with all the other Ballsey Boys again and written by the dynamic duo of Kyleen Neuhold and Nora Phoenix. The narrator Kenneth Obi is excellent as always in bringing the story alive.

Fab Book

Such an entertaining read with complex characters who are totally relatable. I loved how steadfast Jackson is, in going after what he wants. Cameron is sweet doing everything he can to support his Mum, but he is drowning in all his secrets.

Ken's narration was fantastic, his nuanced voices, all the characters have such clear distinct own voices and it really brought a additional element to the story. His narration of all the angst and emotions had me reaching for the tissues. Well done fantastic

Another Great Ballsy Boy...

I really liked the fact that Jackson (and also Pixie) could read Cameron so well that they realized he was bisexual before he did. I have no idea how Campy could do gay porn in the first place when in his head, he considered himself straight. Cameron had such a big heart for all that he did for his mom. Great story!

I loved the narration by Kenneth Obi. Damn, Jackson's accent was so spot on and sexy! I loved listening when all the Ballsy Boys were together and you get to hear all the different voices and ranges.

Enjoyable

I have a special love for the Ballsy Boys series. Campy proves that this series has it all. I enjoyed the interaction between Jackson and Campy. I also enjoyed the evolution of this story line. Obi has once again created an enjoyable narration. The growth of Obi really stands out in this newest. Truly a book to enjoy.

as great as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Kenneth Obi is one of the top 5 narrators (so far) for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Kenneth Obi has done a brilliant job of bringing these characters to life 💕

Fantastic book made better by narration!

Another winner in this fantastic series from two of my favourite authors! I don't know how they do it but their stories are just so entertaining, drawing you in into it's grasp right from the start meaning that I finally finished at 2.20am :-)
Campy and Jackson finally get their story told and what a roller-coaster it is. Campy has a lot of secrets weighing on his shoulders and his new roommate, Jackson, is just too much of a temptation to ignore. He offers a supportive friendship and his Texan charm doesn't do any harm either. There's a fair bit of dancing around but all of it is done with class and your heart just melts when it comes to the two men together, even just as friends. This story takes place alongside the previous ones so if you are following the series, we read things that have already happened but from Campy or Jackson's POV. I love how integrated all of the Ballsy Boys men are. Though they are not constantly living in each others pockets, they are still relevant in each other's stories and the friendship and support that they all give each other is so important to uplifting our current MC's.
Nora and K.M. are one of my favourite writing teams. The characters are given such endearing qualities, making you fall in love with them and struggles that they are go through are easy to relate to whether it's every day little problems or huge things such as debt, health problems, etc.
Cannot recommend this story and series enough. You can read it as a stand alone but it includes characters/couples from previous books. I cannot wait to read Pixie and Bear's story. Can only imagine the explosions that will happen with them!
Kenneth completely knocks the narration out of the park with this one! Campy and, especially Jackson's, voices match perfectly with how I imagined them while reading the book. Jackson's accent is perfect! You fall in love with him instantly and then all over again when we learn more of his character. All of the drama and emotion is conveyed perfectly and I fell in love with their story all over again <3

Campy and his cowboy

Campy is book 4 in the Ballsy Boys series by K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix and narrated by Kenneth Obi. I have loved listening to every book in this series and Campy is no exception. I loved the journey of Campy and his cowboy, Jackson. As a book, this one was probably my least favorite because I had a hard time connecting to Campy, but so far it may be favorite in audio. Kenneth’s youthful and vulnerable voice for Campy was just awesome and spot on. It was unlike any I had heard him do before and I loved the southern accent on Jackson as well. It really helped me to immerse into their world and also made me connect to the characters in a way that I was unable to do so the first time I read it, which was completely unexpected. In short, the story is great, and the narration is even better.
