About this listen

This true story tells of one family’s hilarious journey through Australia’s rugged Outback countryside.

Our intrepid adventurers work their way through numerous mishaps, including, but not limited to, an ill-advised river-crossing and an inappropriately packed roof rack. They also engage in some truly horrible singing.

During their journey, they stumble across a motley assortment of characters, such as a confused check-in clerk, a grey nomad with an eye for detail regarding torches, and several crazy Germans.

While listening to Campervan Kama Sutra, you’ll not only fall in love with Australia’s vast, ever-changing countryside, but you’ll also delight in the tragicomedy that arrives with unerring regularity. You’ll laugh until something hurts.

*P.S. There was no dog.

A really well told and humorous story of one family’s long, entertaining and at times hapless “once in a lifetime” journey through the famous Aussie outback. I would recommend this for great summer relaxation as well as a guide on what to see and what not to do in the unforgiving but unforgettable outback.

A funny and informative listen, great summer relaxation

I put this on every night going to bed and chuckled myself to sleep. Very relaxed and easy listening. I think the author reading his own own work was a good idea - makes it sound very authentic.

Entertaining listen

I was laughing virtually the whole way through the book. The author is so farcical that he makes me feel better about my own camping abilities. A how-not-to guide for anyone considering such a trip, or who just wants a light heated laugh.

Funny as f#ck!

A lovely meander through a family’s holiday through Australia’s north west. Lots of insights into local regions, interlaced with regular dollops of dad-joke humour. Fun, relaxing and a must for anyone considering or longing for travel in Australia.

A funny and light-hearted yarn

This story was at once very warm and heartfelt, while also being very frivolous and funny. A rare combination.

If every family holiday was as actioned packed as the Perriers, the author as narrator works well also.
