About this listen

This is an extensive collection of short essays and other pieces by C. S. Lewis that have been brought together in one volume for the first time. As well as his many books, letters, and poems, Lewis also wrote a great number of essays and shorter pieces on various subjects. He wrote extensively on Christian theology and the defense of faith but also on various ethical issues and on the nature of literature and storytelling. In this essay collection we find a treasure trove of Lewis' reflections on diverse topics.

What a cut-through, logical and brilliant brain. CS Lewis nails many deep, philosophical and societal issues. He cuts through the fluff and presents logic and beauty.
The narration at times was a bit wooden and there are a couple of SF stories at the end that add little. However, this is an absolute must-listen for anyone who wants some rich listening.

Any additional comments?

Huge collection of Lewis' works, performed well. Only problem is there are so many pieces, and the chapter headings aren't included.

Comprehensive, delight to listen to

Ralph Cosham was one of the great readers. Much of the material in this book is brilliant, but just sometimes I find Lewis too self-conscious.
