This was an interesting first book of the Unitam Realm series. I had seen some teasers on TT and was intrigued. One of those scenes was in this first book, so I'm looking forward to reading book 2 straight away to see what other parts of the teasers can be found.

Claire was very timid and very sweet. I look forward to her growing into her Triad relationship and her powers.

Malcolm is definitely the growly dragon that just wants to spoil Claire. Everett, the Gryphon wants to keep her safe and in his sight at all times. Desmond, the wizard, keeps things light but loves a good puzzle, and that's what Claire has turned out to be.

There were a couple of sweet moments between them. It gives good vibes for the coming books.

I read on Kindle and read along on Audible. In AU, it was included in the Audible membership.

Despite significant issues by the author with the use of tense, and frequent repetitive language, the concept for this story and the world building was remarkably captivating. The narrator was pretty awful, her intonation reminded me strongly of Jennifer Coolridge. And in this context was incredibly distracting. However, I found I could easily overlook the many flaws and still thoroughly enjoy the story,

The concept of the story was great .The heroine was made childlike and gave the impression that their vision loss made them timid and shy. The idea of having a differently ambled heroin is great but give the character depth and colours too.

The narrator was very monotoned and the story felt very slow and soupy.it dragged on and made listening hard work.
