Publisher's Summary

The marriage is fake. But for a sassy chef and an arrogant billionaire, the sparks are real...

Jackson "The Beast" Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick's New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fundraiser, Bianca can't refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother's medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.

The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he's built walls to avoid.

As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiancé the best happy ending...or a recipe for disaster?

loved the story. the narration was excellent once you get used to southern accent. had read some reviews that didn't like the female accent. I found once you get used to it that it works well. first time for me for this author but now I'm looking for more.

an adorable love story

This book was a fun book to listen to, but I think it was made even better by the GREAT narration of Diana Luke. She did a fabulous job! I liked the storyline. loved the characters! It was such a sweet love story! I was getting concerned that it would be a cliffhanger but it wasnt..she tied it off very nicely. It was definitely worth a listen and a credit!

Slap slap kiss

At first I wasn't too sure if I would enjoy this book. It starts off a little slow but I ended up loving this story so very much. It had a everything, humor, angst (but not too much), and even some really cool drink and food recipes. It was a perfect blend of emotions and had a kick butt spit fire heroine. Definitely recommend this book.

Loved the story

Loved the story. SY was good as always. The female narrator was a bit to handle. The author painted one picture of the characters and the female narrator painted another. Very confusing at times. Wished I had not bought the audible version but read it myself.

Wow! Excellent Pairing of Narrators! Quite Refreshing!

Listening to Sebastian York’s narration skill is always amazing. However, pairing him with Diana Luke proved to be an excellent choice. With this pair, listening to the story concerning two head-strong lead characters was hilarious! Perhaps it is best to listen to Diana Luke and Sebastian York during daylight rather than after hours because laughing out loud inevitable. I hope to find more audiobooks narrated by Sebastian York and Diana Luke post haste! The combo made me believe in the story and made me feel as if I were in the company of excellence. Great call.😀

Enchantingly witty...😜

Jackson is the heir to his family's legacy and the Boudreaux bourbon fortune. He needs to be married by his next birthday in order to receive his trust. With his birthday looming right around the corner, he's forced to instantly find a bride. While checking out a restaurant where the owner uses his family bourbon to create her signature dishes, Jackson hatches a plan to get Bianca to cater a fundraiser. She agree's to the dinner even though she thinks he's a pompous ass.
Jackson see's Bianca as a beautifully stubborn woman who poses the first real challenge he's had in quite a while.

Jackson's arrogance is worn like a shield to keep from emotionally connecting with female's. By being this way he never feels the sting of rejection or gives up his heart. He thinks there's no way he could ever fall for someone like Bianca. Therefore, making her a perfectly safe option for his fake marriage plan. Luckily for him she needs money to care for her sick mother. Unfortunately for Bianca selling her soul to the devil is the only option she has. And after all a fake marriage is only temporary. This mutually beneficial arrangement is perfect for both parties except for the fact that neither can stand to be in the same room together. Still, they both think they can pull this sham off without feelings involved. Besides, it shouldn't be hard not to fall for a guy who's constantly reminding her, she's a wife in name only. But as time passes and the boundary lines get blurred it proves more difficult for Jackson to maintain his grouchy persona. That's when Bianca's heart starts to melt and she see's the vulnerable man underneath. This fake relationship ment to fool everyone else only ends up making them the real fools for thinking things wouldn't get complicated.

This book is packed with plenty of humor and loads of heat. The devious banter was priceless. And I love the way Alessandra really captures the cultural spirit of Louisiana. The narration only added to this captivating experience. Book's are so much better when the male speaks only the male parts and vice versa. Both Will and Aria did an excellent job. It was so worth the credit!!

Surprisingly great book

I’ve listened to books by this author before and they’ve been a mixture of ok to good, but they’ve really pulled one out of the bag with this book. Genuinely really good!

It follows the typical path you’d expect from a romance book, but it was the best version of the marriage of convenience turning to love storyline I’ve ever heard. I’ve listened to way over 1000 books and I’ve got quite picky with what I expect. It’s fairly cheesy and predictable towards the end, but in that satisfying joyful way you’d want from a great romance film so that’s ok in this genre (what you want when you listen to a book like this after all). I rarely give 5 stars and hate all the inflated reviews out there for average books, but this one really deserves its rating.

Sebastian York was exceptional as always (his voice is made for sexy male narration after all) but it’s the first time I’ve heard Diana Luke and she was brilliant! Her accent was beautiful and had a great range of voices.

Not sure whether it was the writing or the narration (probably both) but I was fully drawn into this book and the characters. I loved that the male lead was awkward too rather than the typical dark and mysterious or macho. It was more akin to books by Penny Reid (fantastic author with great characters) than the normal boring romance replicated banality out there.

The only negative was the recipes (which sounded delicious and made me hungry) which probably work well in a written book at the start of some of the chapters, but were pretty lengthy to be read out on audio so it disrupted the flow a bit. Since the recipes seemed good I’ve not knocked any stars off for that though.

Burn For You

This was the first time I listened to books from this author,I am pleasantly surprised it was a real pleasure to listen to although, there was one part I found annoying that was reading out the recipes, but the plot twist and q almost made up for that I recommend this book it is a y read.

Enemies to Lovers - Slap Slap Kiss - Wonderful

Ooh, I love a storyline with an alpha male and a take no sh!t female lead, and this one definitely falls into that category. Jackson Boudreaux is rich and arrogant, but underneath his harsh exterior he’s got a soft centre. However, when he demands a table at Bianca Hardwick’s restaurant, neither of them are prepared for the sparks that fly. Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite genres. The storyline is tried and tested and there really aren’t many surprises but it’s so well written with wonderful characters, lots of sexy time and a few emotional scenes had me hooked. A lovely addition to the end of some of the chapters were recipes for drinks and food. The final recipe for a cocktail, “Slap Slap Kiss” is on my to do list. Although as I listened to the audio version of this book, I couldn’t screen shot any of the recipes, that though is the only downside of this audio. Perfect narration from both Sebastian York and Diana York definitely makes up for it.

loved the metaphors

Great accents, very well narrated. I love Sebastian Yorks voice but he does so many books very well that you can get used to it (and I tend not to like his co-narrators), Diana Luke's delivery was so good it made it refreshing to listen to Sebastian again.
Fab story, although still fits with the usual rubric of romance novels -it was a fresh take.
Very enjoyable.

Great voice artists bring this story to life

I enjoyed reading this story and so when I had the chance to get the audiobook I hesitated. I hesitated because sometimes the voice artists are terrible. Not the case here - they brought the southern story to life and made it even more hilarious and touching. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant

I loved the characters in this book. One of my favorites. I must say Sebastian York is excellent as ever. However, Diana Luke was a revelation and brought the author's words to life. I laughed out loud so many times, such an animated effort. Will look out for more written by this author.
