Publisher's Summary

My name is Crystal Dolce, and I’m anything but sweet...

It’ll be easy, my father said. When we move to a small town in the south, we’ll own it, my brothers said. After all, my family is rich as sin and used to getting whatever they want. How hard could it be? Except, when we arrive in Faulkner, someone already owns this town.

The Darling family.

They are every bit as wealthy as we are, and they’re not happy with our new money moving in. The three Darling cousins, each one more cruel and gorgeous than the last, rule the halls of Willow Heights the way my brothers ruled our prep school in Manhattan. None is worse than Devlin Darling, who makes it his personal mission to ruin his new rivals.

The Darlings see my brothers as a threat. They want them gone. It doesn’t take them long to find my brothers’ one weakness.

Me.

Note: Bully Me is a high school dark romance suitable for listeners 18+.

Who’s top dog?

When Crystals dad makes them relocate from New York to small town USA Louisiana, they plan on being top dog like they were among the families back home. However southern royalty was already in place and the tensions are high. How far is to far to see who comes out on top. Over all it’s a good story. There’s angst abs emotions but the main character is super wish washy. She’s going to be nice, she’s not. She’s going to be strong, she’s just going to do what they say. This goes on through the whole book and it’s a little annoying but overall a good read. It ends in a cliffhanger but the next book is already available. The narrator did a good job.

Okay I see you Selena

Let’s me start by saying I would rank this book about a low 4 stars or like a solid 3.8 stars (if this could be a rating) so because of that I’ll rank on here a solid 4... This author is new to me and was part of a 26 books in 26 days and/or 26 books by end of September challenge so I put it on my to read list, I mean the name of the book alone was appealing to me... I’m so glad I got the chance to read, well listen, to this book. Now it isn’t my favorite or the best RH high school bully romance book I’ve ever read nor my top 5 but the plot and twist and turns kept me reading and wanting me to finish the series. As to narration, it was alright... Amanda L’Orien isn’t my favorite narrator but she is by far not the worse I’ve heard. Would I seek books out that she reads, no. But I wouldn’t turn away from a narrated book by her and trust me there are some books I would do this with. As to the actual book, without giving too much of the actual plot or twist away, I can say at times I was a bit frustrated with the heroine of the book and I wanted to knock some damn sense into her. I mean there is a difference between being strong and being strong (if you get my meaning). Like she was strong but she allowed too much stuff to happening and allowed it to happen kinda made me upset. But again, there was enough to peek my curiosity so on to book two for me.

Willow Heights Prep Academy: The Elite

Bully Me (Willow Heights Prep Academy: The Elite, Book 1) is a dark bully romance with its own twisted moments. I've read and listened to a quite a few bully romances, however; this one is quite different and some actions were stomach puking feelings. And a bit much for my taste as I read/listen to a lot of dark bully books but just some of things were too much for my taste. The writing is very good, the characters are fleshed out, the plot unfolds smoothly, and the writing style is vivid and bold.. if you are looking for a different darker bully romance this series is for you. Nararated by Amanda L'Orien; her inflection was smooth and easy to listen to. But with so many characters; Darlings & Dolce's it would have been more pleasurable with more narrators.

Dark and Twisted

This was an awesome audiobook. The narrator did a great job with delivery and changing voices between characters. I really enjoyed her southern accent. This story is dark, twisted and I loved every minute of it. I love the Dolces and the Darlings. Poor Crystal is put through so much in this bully romance. That ending was a shocker. This is a great audiobook!

The title does not lie! It's practically a dare.

Well, I certainly was not expecting that! Selena sure knows how to hook the reader in with such a teaser of a cliffhanger ending. Disclaimer: I was given a free copy of this audiobook via StoryOrigin in exchange for an honest review and I'm glad I got to listen. What happens when you pit two alpha groups against each other in a small town? I'll tell you what. You get chaos, destruction, damage, and hurt. The pissed off testosterone in the air is nearly palpable. Welcome to the privileged world of the Dolces and the Darlings. The former are transplanted from New York, the latter owns their southern territory and every one knows it. No one would dare go against Devlin and risk the Darling's wrath without falling on their knees. That is, untli King, Baron, Duke, and Royal Dolce step up to claim the Darling's place in the high school hierarchy. I didn't see any romance here. This story is dark, manipulative, and border-line psychopathic. Except for Colt, he's more of a sociopath (one who has a conscience, weak as it may be). Our girl Crystal, is stuck in the middle of it all. We follow her around in her head while she tries to escape her gilded cage guarded by her older brothers. She got more than she bargained for... showing up on the Darling's radar as their "pet." They literally put a dog collar on her and dragged her around at one point. Everyone is sick or troubled. Not a single likeable character in the bunch. The only one I felt sorry for was Royal, Crystal's twin. Here's to hoping book two will show more romance and redemption! The narrator wasn't bad, but I wish she had the experience to give some zest into her performance! I would have liked to hear the pain of betrayal Crystal must have felt after the loss of her innocence.

dark, intense

Crystal Dolce and her brothers ruled their school in Manhattan. But when their father gave them the news that they were moving to a small town Arkansas they were totally shocked. They have the confidence, but can they take over their new school like they did in New York? A run-in the Darlings is a fight for dominance. The Darlings, all cousins , are old money, family history, own the small town and school. They are conniving, ruthless, and cold hearted. Crystal just wants to figure out the school hierarchy and use that information to her family's advantage. Crystal does not have the confidence but she doesnt want to show weakness either. She knew if she did, they would prey on it. The writer slowly draws you into the twisted world of the Darlings. Their view of entitlements, bullying, and devil may care attitude. They're small town royalty. The Dolce brothers cause havoc to try to bring them down. Amanda L'Orien really brought this story to life! Every emotion, every voice , every character was perfection! She flawlessly transitioned from one character to another. Thank you for the great listen! I was gifted This story by Story Origin and offered my honest review

Dont bother with this series

I've read a fair amount of these stories and while there is usually a point where the main character's decisions drive me crazy, this series (two books so far) has been non stop rage inducing. The main character is a doormat and remains a doormat through the first two books. At first it seems to make sense, don't play into the bullies, don't show weakness but a certain point in this series the main character should become an active participant in the story, making choices and becoming something more so that by the end we see her making the bully a better person, someone worthy of our POVs love. Here there is none of that, so far the main dude has been nothing but awful and the MC just meekly takes it while at the same time "still being drawn to him" Give us a reason to want these two together or give us our girl getting even, without either this series has just been trash.

Wow, I wasnt expecting some of that haha

I should have taken the warnings to heart when this said it was a darker bully romance. I was not expecting some of the things the bully would put the MC through, and can’t really forgive him for some of it. I do think he has some redeeming qualities, but the one scene with the knife and collar....yeah was not a fan. I hope he gets what is coming to him. I thought the rivalry between the southerners and the NY elite was interesting. I wish the MC would stick up for herself more. Like I understand she has a kink, which is totally fine, not kink shaming here, but there were times she could have stopped the really bad stuff from happening. I mean other people (stuff was done in public) had the chance too but they just let it happen. I am definitely going to listen to book 2, but I will say I had to stop listening a couple of times because of the tough scenes. I am intrigued but he brothers and the southern family, and how those guys from love in the future. I will have to see what spinoffs the author has in store for us! For the narration, I thought Amanda did a good job, some of the southern voices were a tad grating on my ears, but I could totally imagine the characters in real life haha. I thought most of her inflections were done well and I enjoyed her male voice. I just wish you could tell some of the characters apart. I think the guys were the hardest to distinguish. I would definitely listen to her again and it was an easy 4 stars from me ❤️

Young bullies.

I found this an uncomfortable listen. It is a well written story and the narrator is good but I really struggled with the content. I have read/listened to other bully stories, but, for me, the bullying was beyond acceptable. I felt truly bad for Crystal while wanting to both shake her and protect her. Devlin was pretty vile and I wonder how he can actually become an acceptable hero! This ends on a cliffhanger, so there is time.

Twisted

This story is twisted in a lot of ways, like 50 shades of grey meets gossip girl. I have to admit it is not what I expected, but I still want to know what happens next!
