The final Sawyer and Royce story provided a lot of closure and endings with major characters popping up throughout under the premise of meeting the new baby. A side plot of tension about a possible delay to the adoption process that would include Sawyer as a father was well handled, with just enough access to an ongoing investigation to keep them connected to the precinct. Other than that, the whole story was one of two new fathers trying to come to terms with parenthood. Loads of reflection on the things that happen in the first few days after the birth of a baby. It is sad to say goodbye to these two men who have grown from gruff and insecure to a dedicated partnership full of love and laughter. I hope we see them again in other stories, but for now.

GOD I have LOVED these books! What an incredible way to end Sawyer and Royce’s story!
