About this listen
After years of drowning myself in parties, hookups, and pain, all it takes is one viral sex tape to be given a choice: Hide out on an island or lose my trust fund.
Having to share a room with the one man I let hurt me is my worst nightmare. I’m the broken shell of the boy he walked away from on the worst day of my life. I hate him almost as much as I hate myself.
This island was supposed to be a place I could rest, but instead, I’m running. From Asher Vaughn. From myself. From the scars on my heart that never healed.
It hurts to look at him and see all the things we never got to have.
How can I keep him at arm's length when he watches me the way he used to? When he touches me? When he calls me his?
We can’t be together, not off this island. The straight football star and the gay femme son of famous parents. The media would rip us apart and ruin his career.
I barely survived the last time he left me. Can I survive being deserted again?
Broken is a brother’s best friend, mm romance with some praise kink, and a broken boy in desperate need of love.
©2023 Andi Jaxon (P)2023 Podium AudioThis book took me on an emotional rollercoaster in the best way. The push and pull between Asher and Elliot is intense and constant – every reunion, every setback, every misunderstanding hits hard. You really feel how much history and hurt sits between them, and that tension drives the story from start to finish.
The writing flows smoothly, so even with heavier themes of grief and mental health, it never feels bogged down or overly dramatic. Instead, the emotion feels earned and grounded, and I found myself flying through chapters because I needed to see how these two would ever find their way back to each other.
What I loved most is that the HEA is anything but easy. It’s not a quick fix or a neat bow; it’s hard fought on both sides. They have to face their past, own their mistakes, and actually do the work, which makes the ending feel all the more satisfying and deserved.
If you enjoy MM romance with real emotional stakes, strong character growth, and a hard-won happily ever after, **Broken** is absolutely worth picking up.
I really enjoyed the emotional push and pull

My biggest issues were Asher still trying to parent Eli while also wanting a romantic relationship with him. I'm pretty sure a TPE relationship would work for them but that wasn't mentioned. If Eli actually said half of the stuff in his head there'd be less misunderstandings. These 2 really had no communication at all, just spicy times. Ugh, anyway.
I loved the narrators, although Iggy Toma will always remind me of the first book where I heard his voice. Otherwise, these guys worked well together and msde it easier to listen to.
They need therapy.
