Publisher's Summary

Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors, Eragon and Saphira narrowly escaped with their lives. But more awaits the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by promises he may not be able to keep, including his oath to cousin Roran to help rescue his beloved Katrina. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes, Eragon must make choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.

Conflict, action, adventure and one devastating death await listeners as Eragon battles on behalf of the Varden while Galbatorix ruthlessly attempts to crush and twist him to his own purposes. Can he become a leader who can unite the rebel forces and defeat the King?

Chapter breaks are off

Great story and Gerard Doyle does really well with his reading but the chapter breaks for the audio book tracks occur mid sentence rather than using the actual chapters. It is very off putting and means you can’t actually set it to snooze at end of chapter. :(

This story, and the whole series is outstanding and draws you in so much. Highly recommend.
Wish there was more than 4 books, I never get sick of hearing about the world of Alagaesia.

the best book ever read (after the 1 and 2)

It was brilliant you just want him to continue writing and to think that he wrote the first book when he was 16 it's incredible. If you've read or seen lord of the rings eragon is about the same but with more magic in the story and bit less wars.

Good attempt

As with the others, the reader is treated as a little simple, and all the dragons sound like Daleks. Love the way the more slow characters have West Country accents...

wheres the rest of the book

books 1 and 2 were incredible but halfway through this one I was so confused, and then realised its abridged.... the story has no structure and I am now reading the books to try to understand what happened! loved the narrator, but the choppy story sucked

Oh Christopher!

Every book in the inheritance series so far has been amazing and Brisingr did not fail to impress also - what a book!

I really loved the scene with eragon and Arya when fleeing from the empire back to the Varden when the spirits appeared and seeing the more sensitive side of Arya and the strength of the friendship between the two of them.

Nasuada really developed in this book and I loved seeing her character grow especially with 'the trial of the long knives' and the contradiction towards the end with Roran.

There are many moments I could pick out but I would be here all day. To summarise, this is an amazing book and well structured I'm looking forward to the 4th book in the series.

A childhood gem with great performance

The Inheritance cycle was one of my absolute favourites as a teen and one that I will never forget. it impacted me deeply to the extant that I even started vaguely incorporating the Ancient Language in my everyday life (I'm so cool, I know!).
ThiS production does an excellent job at capturing the magic of it, the pacing is brilliant and the characterisation is spot on. At first I did find the dragon voices a little jarring but the reasoning behind it makes so much sense and now it just seems to fit.
Thank you!

Saphiras voice? really?

not fond of the narrator. Saphira is meant to be graceful, feminine and wise. narrator make her sound like a fat man with a cold.
