About this listen

One has the golden touch. The other buys whatever he wants. When love races in, which man will end up on top?

Twenty-six-year-old Silver Cruz loves working on fast cars, but finding the right boy to care for eludes him. When a handsome older man’s performance ride breaks down nearby, the hunky mechanic is quick to bring his magic fingers to the rescue and get him going. However, the pushy snob’s expectation of a casual quickie makes Silver put a speed bump between him and a sizzling jump between the sheets.

Forty-two-year-old billionaire CEO Donovan Fonterra’s only friend is his wealth. So after his hot rod malfunction attracts a ripped young dude with a take-charge attitude, he can’t resist flashing the green light for some high-octane thrills. But even though the younger man slams on the brakes, Donovan goes in hard for the pursuit.

As Silver struggles to fend off his persistent admirer, he discovers this is a man in need of a firm hand. And when Donovan finally succumbs to Silver’s skillful bedroom tools, he might just be ready to surrender control to the sexy wrench-wielding hunk.

Will Silver and Donovan discover the key that turns their uninhibited passions into a forever love?

Voice for each character superb. Story line great as it was a bit different and included cars. Enjoyed the read

When 26 yo high-end car mechanic Silver Cruz comes across the stranded 42 yo billionaire CEO Donovan Fonterra, he isn’t impressed. Donovan seems rich and entitled, almost unaware of how judgemental he can sound. Silver gives him the bum’s rush and thinks no more about him. But Donovan sees something in Silver that he knows he needs in his life. While immensely wealthy, Donovan is the black sheep of the family, scorned by his father and younger brother and barely tolerated as CEO of the family company for being gay. Donovan tries to finagle sex out of Silver, but Silver finally sees behind the cocky façade and wonders if he can train Donovan as his boy.

There’s always an interesting dynamic between a young daddy dom with an older sub (it’s like the daddy is wise beyond his years), so I liked the premise of this age-gap / reverse sub-dom romance. However, I felt the execution suffered. I had trouble believing a 42 yo CEO of a major design company couldn’t stand up to his father or his brother. I also found Donovan’s character too emotional to be believable and I would have liked more depth in the side characters, they were little more than extras with a couple of lines. Finally, this was a little too instalove for my liking, there wasn’t enough effort put in to show them falling for each other. 🎧 Veteran voice actor John Solo is a firm favourite—he can always draw out the emotions well—but I felt he raced his lines in places and I had to slow down the playback in the first part of the book to catch the words.

Great premise but the romance lacked something.
