Story
The small town of Nannine lies in the harsh red interior of New South Wales. Once a thriving outback centre, years of punishing drought have whittled it down to no more than a couple of pubs and a police station. And its one sinister claim to fame: the still-unsolved disappearance of Evelyn McCreery 19 years ago from the bedroom she shared with her twin sister. Mina McCreery's life has been defined by the intense and ongoing public interest in her sister's case. Now an anxious and reclusive adult, Mina lives alone on her family's sunbaked destocked sheep farm.

Story
This time it’s a payroll and bank run in the north of South Australia, an outpost town suddenly transformed by a pipeline construction project that brings petty crime, prostitution - and opportunity. It’s a town with its own secrets, and Wyatt isn’t quick to trust at the best of times. But he’s on the run, and he can’t afford to be choosy. This is another masterpiece of orchestration and unravelling, anchored by an unforgettable ticking-clock sequence that will keep you listening. Fans of noir and hard-boiled fiction will find a fascinating extension of the genre.

Story
Darwin, Summer, 1963. The humidity sat heavy and thick over the town as Senior Constable Ned Potter looked down at a body that had been dragged from the shallow marshland. He didn't need a coroner to tell him this was a bad death. He didn't know then that this was only the first. Or that he was about to risk everything looking for answers.

Ordinary
I felt that the narrative was often repetitive and the actual dialogue was often followed by a description of the dialogue which was unnecessary.
The narration could have been much better.. especially the intonation at the end of many sentences and the inadequacy of the female voices.
There was also several congruities in the story line and actions by the police which I felt were not realistic or true to what I believe to be police procedures. The plot was good. Overall, it could have made for a much better read/listen but for the above-mentioned downsides.

The best yet. A nailbiting thriller.
Another great detective thriller with Foley and Rose, Exciting and fast paced. ;The tension created by watching the young girls at the hands of a raving sex maniac, How can they escape?, Foley and Rose slowly close in on the location and the perpetrator. An audiobook that will leave you sitting in the driveway. Narrated in style by Geoffrey Boyes, who; with his Australian accent; provides reality and context.
