good series

At times I started to find the war and politics a little tedious but then it quickly became clear it was providing good context for personalities and roles in society. Pleasant space alien romance novel, not stunningly original but I really liked the balance of light hearted, some humour but not silly, romance with a HEA, smart women who have strength not just stubbornness and call that personality. I enjoyed the extra novella and that has me sucked in to want the rest of the series now, where before I'd have been content just with book one cos included in audible.
