Publisher's Summary

The women's league is in the house! And Brooklyn will never be the same again for Anton Bayer and the team....

This is my last chance to ditch my playboy reputation and finally fulfill my potential. So I’ve made three rules for our biggest season yet: no boozing, no women, and no scandals.

Especially that last thing.

So who do I befriend on the very first day back at the rink? An amazing female hockey player. I want Sylvie in a way that’s more than just friendly. I crave her. But I have a championship to win, and so does she.

Then she gets her heart broken by my teammate, and I make the foolish mistake of comforting her in the best way I know how. Our night together sets off a string of sins.

Nobody can know about our affair, especially my overprotective teammate. I can’t let anyone see into my greedy little heart. Not even her.

The things I want from her, and the things we’ve already done? If anyone knew, there’d be bombshells.

Contains: a defenseman with dreamy blue eyes, a female goalie with bad ideas, a major battle of the sexes, and a swimming-pool scene....

Baby Bayer

Absolutely LOVE baby Bayer!!! Anton Bayer has finally after screwing up one too many times and being scared he will loose his spot of the Brooklyn Bruisers hockey team, to clean up his act. No more partying, alcohol, girls (aka puck bunnies), and whatever else he shouldn't be doing. He's got his last chance to continue playing hockey. Little did he know this blond bombshell would be his undoing in the girl department. From the first hairpin, he's done for. Sylvie, having spent the better part of the year mourning her mom's death, never expected to be playing professional women's hockey in the US or for the 'sister team' of the man she had always dreamt of marrying. Please note this is not a love triangle. Bryce and Sylvie are not romantically connected, it's just they both thought they would get married since they grew up together. Anton and Sylvie find a fast friendship as workout/running buddies. They both feel their is something between them but it takes awhile to give in. Once they do, they become more of a friends with benefits despite the hair pins popping up everywhere (signs from Sylvie's mom). It doesn't take long though for our baby Bayer to realize he is in love with Sylvie and once Sylvie lets go of the past she knows it too. Now there is no stopping the hockey duo. Their love is strong enough to melt the ice!!!!! Sabrina did a great job too depicting the disparity between gender equality in sports, I commend her for making this part of the story! Baby Bayer and Sylvie will melt your heart. Highly recommend this book. The narrators for the audio are fairly new to me, despite being an avid audio book listener. They did a phenomenal job.

One of my favourite books of the year!

I read Bombshells on release day and I absolutely loved it! I couldn't wait to listen to it on audio as well and it was just as good ! This book is funny, sexy and emotional and as always Sarina Bowen writes characters that I just love reading about or in this case listening to them. Great performance by both narrators.

Desiree is one of my top narrator's so much fun to listen to anything she narrates. Patrick was new but really loved his narration. I love that there is something special about Sarina Bowen stories. The journey of the friendship between Anton and Sylvie.

Can't wait for more Bombshells. I loved this

I absolutely adored Anton and Sylvie in the latest Brooklyn hockey novel from Sarina Bowen! And now we have a whole new team to root for - The Brooklyn Bombshells are the women's professional hockey team, and the sister team to our beloved Brooklyn Bruisers.

Anton Bayer has a bit of a bad reputation off the ice, and he needs a bit of redemption. What he doesn't expect to find in his 'year of focus' is true love, but once he meets Sylvie, the two of them are drawn to each other. Sylvie came to Brooklyn not only to pursue her hockey career, but also the man she thought she's destined to marry - and it is NOT Anton. But Anton and Sylvie forge a friendship that helps them both discover so much about themselves and each other.

I not only loved Anton's "franken-words" but also his compassion, his true caring and desire to help Sylvie, the effort he puts in to be a better person after years of lot focus, and his wit. Sylvie is determined, fierce and truly caring. They both give and take with each other, and their relationship is built on genuine friendship, trust and attraction.

Patrick Zeller is HOT, HOT, HOT narrating Anton Bayer. He oozes charm and charisma, but he also bring so much humor and wit to the delivery of Sarina Bowen's expertly crafted character. Desiree Ketchum is a fantastic Sylvie, capturing her determination to take control of her destiny and live the life she wants to live.

A fantastic trip back to the world of Brooklyn hockey. Looking forward to more from the Bombshells and the Bruisers. Oh, how I wish they were real teams and players!

Entertaining

Anton has sworn off women, determined to avoid scandal and focus on his hockey. We have had glimpses of Anton before and he has always been a player and I was excited when I learnt that Bombshells was his story.

That is until he meets Sylvie a member of the newly formed woman’s Bombshells team. He is attracted to her from the start and when she is in need of comfort he lends a shoulder and so much more. They really shouldn’t become involved but somethings cannot be helped. However, the last thing either of them can afford is for their relationship to be discovered.

I really liked these two for one another, they are quirky and unique and the banter between them is witty. The narrators Patrick Zeller and Desireé Ketchum are both new to me and I have to say they did a good job bringing this story to life for me. They were easy to listen to with pleasing voices that did justice to Anton and Sylvie characters.

I loved that playboy Anton can finally see himself having a forever with a woman and Sylvie was just the woman for him. Together these two are invincible. It was also fun catching up with some familiar faces and I look forward to reading more in the series.

This is a steamy, sweet, low angst, fun story that ticked the boxes for me.

Another good one!

Sarina always writes good stories with feel-good vibes. This one was no exception. It was sweet, funny, steamy and happy.
The narrators were excellent. Desireé did a lovely job as Sylvie. Patrick was new to me and wow! I’ll definitely be checking out more of his work.
I loved the scenes with the Bruisers we’ve known from other books. Overall, a really good, fun book.

Fun and steamy sports romance

Bombshells was a funny, steamy, and delightfully sweet story of romance between two friends turned lovers. This was actually my first book by Sarina Bowen and I absolutely loved it.

Anton was so sweet and such a good friend to everyone on his team as well as Sylvie. He was instantly awestruck by her, but he steps aside because she has an unresolved relationship with one of his teammates and he doesn’t want to betray either one of them. However, he can’t stop his feelings for her and he just keeps falling deeper and deeper for Sylvie. He never fails to support her and to encourage her to follow her dreams.

Sylvie is a little naïve, but once she knows what she wants, she goes after it. She’s not afraid to stick up for herself and I loved how feisty and independent she was. I loved how she kept the spirit of her mom alive. She grows up a lot throughout the story and it was fun to see how she overcame obstacles when she realized that life didn’t always go as planned.

Sylvie and Anton generated enough steam to fog up my classes. They were HOT!! Plus their banter was off the charts. They were just so much fun.

Desiree Ketchum and Patrick Zeller narrated the audiobook and they were fabulous. They really put their emotions into the performance and I really felt like I was living the scene. I felt EVERYTHING!!

I’m not sure why it took me so long to read a Sarina Bowen book, but I definitely plan to go back and read about all of the rest of the Bruisers.

Anton and Sylvie for the win!

I had a great time with this book! I admit that I am a huge fan of Sarina Bowen's work so I couldn't wait to dive into this book. There is just something about the way that this author tells a story that leaves me feeling all warm and gooey inside. This book was no exception. I was totally hooked by this romance and couldn't get enough of Anton and Sylvie.

Anton Bayer decides to clean up his act after having a rough season the previous year. He wants to focus on hockey and does not expect to meet anyone like Sylvie. Sylvie is playing on the women's hockey team, the Bombshells, which shares the same facility as the men's team. Sylvie always thought that she would end up with one of Anton's friends and teammates but they don't seem to be in sync for some reason. Before long, Anton is the one that she turns to when she needs a friend.

I liked Anton and Sylvie a lot. These two had fantastic chemistry with each other. I loved that they were both very dedicated to hockey and had that in common. They didn't jump into a relationship immediately although they were attracted to each other. I liked that they spent time with each other before jumping into anything else. I really felt like they were a perfect fit for each other and loved getting a chance to see them fall for each other.

Patrick Zeller and Desirée Ketchum did a fantastic job with the narration of this book. I did have a bit of a hiccup with the male narrator since I recently listened to another book where he voices a very unlikable character but once I realized what was going on, I was able to really settle into the story. I think that they both did a great job in bringing the characters to life and I loved the emotion that came through in their narration. I found myself listening to this book every free moment that I had and believe that their narration added to my overall enjoyment.

I would highly recommend this book to others. I really enjoyed going along with Sylvie and Anton as they found what they were looking for in each other. I cannot wait to read more of this talented author's work.

I received a digital review copy of this audiobook from the author/publicist.

4.5 stars good story

I enjoyed this story, liked the characters and how they evolved and developed, and great narration too. The only reason for not being 5 stars is I save that for books that utterly sweep me away, whereas this one was a good solid book instead.
