Editorial Reviews

Kit Ralston sits in a remote corner of the British Empire, in the Afghanistan of the 1800s. He is a sensitive Englishman who is bogged down in war and misery. The environment is unforgiving; multiple rebellions are afoot. The powerful and calculating Akbar Khan loans Kit a young woman named Ayesha. Ayesha was once Annabel, an English girl who was kidnapped and reinvented by Akbar. Kit in turn kidnaps Ayesha, and tries to restore her to her original self. Their passion endures as they battle obstacles. Robin Bloodworth’s civilized and diffident tone brings beleaguered Kit to life. You can see this grim world through Kit’s tense and exhausted descriptions of life. Bloodworth’s deep and earnest voice also authenticates Kit’s obsessive interest in Ayesha.

JF writes great Historical, sexy books...

sometimes! When she write a really good one everyone love it. This one was not her best, but it was engaging. The British-Afganistan history was heart rendering. I would like to meet this author, her ability to weave a story into some of the most brutal historical time periods is unsurpassed...when she care to!
Yes, I recommend this book.
