So the narrators did a wonderful job here. The British accents suited the writing perfectly.
The story took me a minute to get into, there was a lot of new terminology and world building to get my head around. But once we got moving, it was great. The writing is lovely and lends itself to fantasy romance very well. The romance was slow burn and I really loved how our main characters took the time to actually converse and get to know one another, it was very sweet. The ending definitely left me wanting the next book right away, so I look forward to that audio coming out next (in March I believe!). This was my first book from Vela Roth and I will happily read more from her!

This is a world of humans and vampires where the vampires are diplomatic and the humans bloodthirsty. It's a different spin and such a unique book in a sea of similar romantasy. The writing is a delight as is the genuinely slow burn romance between Cassia and Lio.

Narration: I've already knew Kale Williams’ narration style and voice, I’ve listened to many of his audiobooks previously. He has such a soft and calming narration. He was a perfect choice as Lio. Caren Naess was new to me and she narrated Cassia so well. It was an excellent combination. I found listening to the audio very soothing.
