The first book in Karin Slaughter's #1 bestselling GRANT COUNTY series.

She was found in the local diner. Brutally murdered. Ritually mutilated.
And she won't be the last.
_________________________________________

The sleepy town of Heartsdale, Georgia, is jolted into panic when Sara Linton, paediatrician and medical examiner, finds a woman dead in the local diner.

She has been cut: two deep knife wounds form a lethal cross over her stomach. But it's only once Sara starts to perform the post-mortem that the full extent of the killer's brutality becomes clear.

Police chief Jeffrey Tolliver - Sara's ex-husband - is in charge of the investigation, and when a second victim is found, crucified, only a few days later, both Jeffrey and Sara have to face the fact that themurder wasn't a one-off attack. What they're dealing with is a seasoned sexual predator. A violent serial killer...

Critic Reviews

Don't read this alone. Don't read this after dark. But do read it
This gripping debut novel, filled with unremittingly graphic forensic details, is likely to have Patricia Cornwell and Kathy Reichs glancing nervously in their rearview mirrors because rookie Karin Slaughter is off the starting grid as quickly as Michael Schumacher and is closing on them fast
Chilling but thrilling
Slaughter ... brings the story to a shattering climax
Wildly readable... [Slaughter] has been compared to Thomas Harris and Patricia Cornwell, and for once the hype is justified ... deftly craf ted, damnably suspenseful and, in the end, deadly serious ... Slaughter 's plotting is brilliant, her suspense relentless
Unsparing, exciting, genuinely alarming ... excellent handling of densely woven plot, rich in interactions, well characterised and as subt le as it is shrewd ... A formidable debut
An extraordinary debut ... Slaughter has created a ferociously taut and terrifying story which is, at the same time, compassionate and real. I defy anyone to read it in more than three sittings (Denise Mina)
Wildly readable...Blindsighted hits the bull's eye.
An unflinching suspense thriller . . . Blindsighted is a promising debut, and Karin Slaughter is a novelist to watch (George P. Pelecanos)

Did not like the voice of the narrator. Story was reasonable, I am used to more complex plots from this author.

I love Karin Slaughter and no doubt would have enjoyed this book... if it was the whole thing. It is abridged to the point where certain parts make no sense. There are also bizarre interludes of music for no obvious reason. If you are keen to read this book, as I was, I would recommend finding the full version elsewhere. Overall Slaughter still tells a good tale - but this audiobook lets her down.

Horribly abridged

Not sure what the music was all about?? Very boring. Definitely won’t recommend. Her worst that I’ve read.

No good
