Publisher's Summary

What happens when an almost 30-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction?

Lots of banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and heat.

Midfielder Maclay "Mac" Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when an adorable, freckled seamstress comes barreling into his life, he finds Netflix-And-Bickering with her to be his new favorite pastime.

Freya Cook is used to being the invisible woman with a needle and thread, offering cheeky punchlines as she helps dress London's finest. She's plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered.

However, after one innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya.

What neither of them see coming are the feelings that develop when the clothes come off.

Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don't fall in love with your best friend.

Blindsided is a full length (97,000 words) contemporary rom-com standalone with a sports theme.

✫✫ 5 Stars ✫✫ LOVED IT!!!!

Man I devoured this book! I loved the characters and their relationship. It was so great to read about a female lead who had flaws. Freya had a lot of self esteem issues and to be honest, they are the same thoughts that I think many of us have everyday. I loved how she came out of her shell and with the help of her friends and her man she learned to love herself. First I fell in love with Mac, then with their friendship, then I fell in love with Freya and finally I fell head over heels in love with their relationship. The banter between them was off the charts. I laughed so much during this book. Without giving any spoilers, I just have to say this book had the BEST scene ever in it that was seriously funny but extremely thought provoking. I am not surprised about how much I loved this book though because I expect nothing less from this Author.

The narration, as always with all Amy's books was PERFECT. I loved all the accents and I love when a voice fits a characters personality and Will Watt and Charlotte Cole fit like a glove.

Best Narrators EVER!!!!

WOW... WOW... WOW... Will Watt and Charlotte Cole were just simply amazing. Best dual narration I have ever heard. I have always wanted Freya to have her own book and Amy Daws blew my mind. I have to say I laughed so hard and I have to admit I cried buckets too. Mac was just simply delicious and I loved him, but I wanted to smack some sense into him as well. This book shows two friends who can't see what is right in front of them. Plus more Harris Clan too, who can say no to hot footballers!!!
Highly recommend this book and I loved this narration so much!!!

Another Great Book from Amy Daws!

Friends to more is my favorite trope and with Blindsided, Amy Daws has created an interesting story with engaging characters that come alive through the duet narration. I am picky about audiobooks and narrators, but I always love Amy's books on audio.

From the beginning it is easy to see the strong bond between Mac and Freya and that remaining platonic best friends is not in their future. After having met them in a previous book I really liked getting to know them better. They were fun and funny, and definitely not one dimensional. I appreciated that they had careers and interests outside of just being with each other.

The evolution of their relationship was sweet and hit all the right notes. The author infused the story with enough humor and heart to make it an enjoyable and entertaining read!

Mac and Freya's story is a spin-off from the Harris Brothers series, but can be read as a standalone.

My heart is full AF

This book just really hit the spot for me. First off, Freya and her plus sized body did not feel fetishized at all. Second, Mac’s attraction to her was more about being seen as more than a footballer than anything else. It was the basis of the best friendship.

Honestly, if anything annoyed me about this book, it was best friend this and that, but it was so minor to some of the best writing I have experienced on a personal level.

I came into this book thinking I would relate to Freya and came out feeling like Mac. It hit me in the gut. I didn’t expect it to be honest. I figured, best friends to lovers, we’re fine! Everything’s fine!

Wrong. The way Amy Daws conveyed feelings of obligation in regards to family and the paths to happiness were just... just it! I felt it squeeze my heart. I felt seen.

Narration was stellar among the leads. Will Watt and Charlotte Cole were amazing. Some secondary characters were just ok, but dang, Will as Mac was just perfection. Charlotte’s Freya, I really cannot imagine anyone else bringing that character to life like she did.

What a great book.

Hilarious, Wonderful, Sexy!

I have been waiting for this on audible for a long time. I was ready to download as soon as it was released and available! I was definitely not disappointed. This book is funny, clever, and super sexy! Mac and Freya are such an adorable couple of friends and a perfect example of building a brutally honest friendship that leads to some hilarious moments. I love how they watch TV together, give each other a hard time, and cluelessly fall in love together! Mac goes all out in his efforts to make Freya's experience positive, and it brought me to tears. I loved everything about this book, especially the audiobook. Will Watt & Charlotte Cole deliver excellent performances! I was immediately invested in the characters and their journey together. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love with them. I will definitely listen again!

A solid addition to the Harris Bros world

This is a great Friends to Lovers story! I loved the fact that Freya as a character was in a path of self discovery throughout the story while Mac basically was such a support to her. On his end, he was also in a process of growing and evolving as a person. I think this is why these characters were able to go beyond friendship seamlessly. Freya was a character that had many insecurities and, even though she was realistic in many ways, the self-deprecation was a bit much. My favorite scene was one where all the female characters were talking about how their inner voices give them so much self doubt and question so much in their lives. That scene was so real and a true highlight. The narration, as always, is perfection!! Will and Charlotte slayed their performances with all the emotional nuances. They play off of each other perfectly!!! Overall a great listen!!

Can I say WOW a thousand times?!?!

Will Watt is my new hero. You obviously hear his Scottish accent in Payback, but having a whole audio of it? My ears were in heaven the whole time. Combined with Charlotte Cole, they are just a dream team of narrators. I don't know how Amy writes these amazing books! I was laughing, crying, swooning, cringing and moaning throughout the whole book. The whole spectrum of emotions was hit. Just simply spectacular. I need more, please Amy!

Phenomenal!

I have never been more excited to listen to a book that I already read in ebook form before and I was NOT disappointed. I absolutely adored this book and Will Watt and Charlotte Cole did what I knew they would do--bring it to life! Mac and Freya are one of my very favorite couples from Amy Daws. They completely stole my heart. The narration was as awesome as the story. I've loved Will Watt's voice for a while now, but he really brings something special with that Scottish accent. I loved every bit from beginning to end!

My Thoughts on Blindsided

Oh the audio goodness. That's what Blindsided was. Not only because the storyline was romantic perfection, although it was definitely that. But also because of the audio itself.

These two narrators really brought these characters to life. Freya was so funny and just impossible to not love. She's the type of character I wish I could be friends with and not only because of the great accent. Mac was a great mix of bad boy and boy next door. They were so sweet together. And yet the steam was off the charts too. I love a good best friend's to lovers story, but when it's written by Amy Daws sign me up. I know I'm going to get a story that's well written, with great characters, fun cameos from beloved characters, and my favorite kind of ending.

Charlotte Cole and Will Watt are by far two of my absolute favorite narrators and this book is a prime example of why.

Another great listen!

I don't think you will ever be disappointed with an audiobook from Amy Daws. The narration is spot on, the story is amazing, and you cannot help but be pulled into the story. This is a spin-off novel from the Harris Brothers series but is still fine to be read/listened to as a standalone.

This series just keeps getting better and better! Blindsided is a slow burn, friends to lovers story but Mac and Freya are just everything! Amy's words are truly brought to life through the audio.

These are stories that have to be devoured!

Seriously, enjoyed every little bit of this!

Freya and Mac are total besties and it’s hard for people of the opposite sex to be friends. There’s usually one of ya that starts to fall no matter how hard you resist. I’m feeling like Mack was sweet on her way before he had an excuse to fall back on. But even then, I could not get enough of them. They were so sweet and just adorable together! They totally had the old couple vibe going on and I just couldn’t help laughing at them throughout the book. This is really one of those stories that has a little bit of everything… that sweet friendship building up to something special, fun scenes… hilarious scenes, I just adored them as people and together! Then they pulled out the heat! I just couldn’t get enough.

Will Watt and Charlotte Cole just KILLED this narration!! I mean, how is it not illegal for Will Watt to have such a sinful Scottish brogue? He was just a dream to listen too! A dream! Then with Charlotte Cole and her soft voice, she fit Freya perfectly… a little peppy and upbeat. They were just fantastic together!!

Mac and Freya!

Mac is a sweet, sexy and successful football player. He plays the game not only for himself but for those that he loves the most and is determined not to let them down which means not getting distracted by anything and that includes women. Freya is a curvy seamstress who appears to be outgoing and confident but inside she has the same insecurities we all do that when it comes to other people we don’t always measure up.

Mac and Freya are the type of friends that just enjoy the time they spend together where it doesn’t matter what they are doing the banter between them is both hilarious and honest. When a simple game has Freya revealing her lack of experience when it comes to men Mac offers to become her tutor and teach her about all things physical and once that line is crossed their friendship is about to become very complicated.

Fun and flirty there is no denying that they are perfect for each other. She isn’t interested in him for his skills on the field and he sees her beauty even when she doesn’t see it herself. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought both narrators were excellent with the Scottish and English inflections.

Funny, steamy, and dramatic

Best friends Mac and Freya were more than happy to “Netflix and bicker;” that is until they, along with their friends, play an innocent game of Never Have I Ever and Mac finds out that his gorgeous plus-sized best friend is still a virgin and has a hard time talking to members of the opposite sex. Mac becomes Freya’s love coach and after the first few lessons, Freya realizes that she’s falling for Mac…

Mac and Freya’s bickering and bantering was so much fun to listen to and made them (and their relationship) seem more realistic. Freya’s socially awkwardness and insecurities make her so relatable. This book is steamy, funny, and dramatic with a little bit of angst.

Narrators Will Watt and Charlotte Cole did an amazing job. They really brought the characters to life with their performance.

Blindsided is a best friends-to-lovers contemporary sports romance written in dual first-person POV and narrated duet style. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
