Publisher's Summary

David Olusoga's Black and British is a rich and revealing exploration of the extraordinarily long relationship between the British Isles and the people of Africa. Drawing on new genetic and genealogical research, original records, expert testimony and contemporary interviews, Black and British reaches back to Roman Britain, the medieval imagination and Shakespeare's Othello.

Unflinching, confronting taboos and revealing hitherto unknown scandals, Olusoga describes how black and white Britons have been intimately entwined for centuries.

AMAZING

Just amazing book the story was just outstanding, it made me cry and also just could not believe what went on. it was upsetting and deeply moved me. I crew up in Surrey in England I never had any black kids in my class. I never realised how bad things were. The treatment of black people as been appalling. Read this book, everybody should read this book. Narrated by this man with the most beautiful voice. A must read or should I say a must listen to.
OUTSTANDING probably the greatest book I have ever had read to me.
