Publisher's Summary

Her dad's a villain. She's his princess.
And their world is about to crash.

For Terry, family is everything. But it's far from perfect....

Billie Jo is the adored only child of wealthy villain Terry and Michelle, the drunken wife he hates. Knowing how much Billie Jo dreads her parents' fights, Terry imagines that she'll understand when he tells her he is going to leave Michelle to marry his pregnant secretary.

But fate is about to deal a terrible hand and change everything in a way Terry has not planned for, leaving Billie Jo's protected world in tatters.

Set in a world of villains and chancers, Kimberley Chambers' brilliant first novel is a roller-coaster listen you will not want to stop.

Stunning book, absolutely loved it as I do every book that Kimberley Chambers writes!!
Plus, I love Annie Aldington and everything she narrates, so together this was perfection for me.

Thank goodness for rylan

After hearing Kimberley talking to Rylan on the radio I thought I must try one of these books. Started with the one Kimberley did first and she said it took her 10 weeks to write. Absolutely brilliant and took me considerably less time to hear it. Got the next two loaded and ready to play. Thankyou Rylan and Kimberley Chambers. Might bump into you one day at lakey if I’m lucky.

Really enjoyable

This is an adult book that gripped me from the first. Kimberley Chambers’ style is very similar to Martina Cole, so if you like Ms Cole’s stories, you’ll love this one. Great characterisation is given additional depth by Annie Aldington (who also narrates Martina Cole’s work). The only weak point, in my opinion, was an unsatisfactory round-up for the main protagonist. A great listen.

Realistic dysfunction

Beautifully read. Storyline OK and so realistic that I felt like I'd spent all 19 hours living with a badly dysfunctional family. Listening to the drunken words of one of the characters grated after a while and I would have liked a more satisfying ending to his character and more tied up ending with regards to him.
